So no one replied to this in the forum that it was in and Im real curious about it. Maybe this is a better place.

This has been bugging me for a while. Chalk it up to me going thru the post break up-was going to marry her,Im at that age where all the good ones seem to be taken,i thought I was done looking syndrome.

Everytime I see or meet a cute nice girl they all seem to have the ring on their finger. It seems like all of the 25-30 year olds are spoken for and the only ones that are left are the trashy types.

Mann I hate this.

I just want to meet a nice girl, Im done messing around.

Anyone relate?

Keep your chin up!

Just get out there and mingle... you will find one eventually!

Oh, and try not to judge one as trashy until you get to know her a little!

Posted

Don't Hassle It!

there is someone out there for you who isn't trashy...you'll find her or she will find you.

Maybe trashy was a bit strong.

Your not the only one who seems to run into that problem. Us girls come across that just as often :p. You always find love when you aren't looking for it. As hard as it is to be patient, the right one will come along when you least expect it... and there is a reason why the trashy girls don't have rings... umm, they're trashy! lol Hang in there, there's someone for everyone :)

Thanks Allison.

My ex came along when I was not expecting or looking for it. Its just been several months since the breakup and I miss having someone o share things with .patients I guess. For some reason Ive been getting alttle anxious about this.

Yeah it is true that *many* women in that range are taken, but not all. I am 28 and I'm not engaged or married and I'm definitely not trashy. We're still out there. Maybe just a little harder to find. Like Alison said, good guys who aren't engaged are married are very hard to find as well and that can be frustrating. Just think of it this way, the right one will come at the right time.

Ya tell me about it - I'm 30 and it seems like everytime I think a guy is cute he has a freaking ring on! I've gotten to the point where I just know they are all working on their first marriages and I will just have to wait for the second go around! :)

Thats the spirit:). Lemmonade out of lemmons. Now why did I not think of that?

I need to have buisness cards made up.

"In case things dont work out here's my card."

Ahh... Cheezy:rolleyes:

yeah.... don't do that. :)

Remember you cannot always go by the ring on the finger, many girls just wear those to throw off the deadbeats. Or a get out of jail free card so to say....Who knows one of those might be the one you put the REAL ring on their finger! :)

any girl who would wear a fake wedding ring is lame and you shouldn't talk to her because of that! :)

That's a really tough age to be at because everyone is in the "getting married" phase. The bad thing about this age range is that this is the age when many people get married even when it's not the right person and it's due to the pressure they're feeling from their peers and family--or the desire for children.

This won't be much consolation to you but many of those that you see with rings on their fingers will be available 10 years from now. While age 25-30 is the age of marriage, age 40-45 is the age of divorce. The dating market for me is pretty much ALL divorcee's.

My point is not to be in a hurry or you'll end up in the divorce category like too many do. At my age, it's not "are you divorced?"....it's "how many times have you been divorced?"

That's not a joke either.

Hey Unique,

How have you been?

Yeah Someone else that I know said the same thing. My Boss for instance was a marrage and family therapist. Hes in his late 40's and on his third divorce. He has all the money in the world but he has never really been happy.

Hes now on E-harmony all the time. The women he finds all have some issue. They start out normal and then after a couple of weeks psycho:eek:.

My theory is now this...

Those that try too hard never succeed when it comes to love.

I think that most women can sence desperation no matter how deep its burried.

There's too much desperation at that 25-30 age. It's much better later on....more relaxed......except everyone's screwed up......

Yeah, thats what scares me.

I would change your social habits in terms of where you go for fun. A lot of girls in that age range just finished school and working on a career where they don't have time to really go out. Try to pick up woman at places where you'd think your future girl may hang out. Ski diving, rock climbing, gym, take up horseback riding lessons.

I'm 26 and I'm single. I work and got to school full time so it's hard for me to date. Also, all those gals that are getting married in their early 20's will be divorced soon because that's what usually happens. hang in there, they'll be single again. HAHA! That's my outlook on marriage right now. But, I wont settle because everyone SEEMS to be getting hitched but me. I think it's what you want so it's all you see right now.

Posted

Well, I'm 26 and 100% single. While I have my frustrating share of married/engaged friends, I have plenty of single friends my age too- male and female.

Maybe you should make friends with some of these ringed folks- I am sure they'd be happy to introduce you to their single friends! (trust me, they have them!)

Posted

The problem is that when many of these women are back on the market again so many of them will be so embittered by men you won't even want them. This works the other way as well. In your 40s it is hard as hell to find somebody of either gender that hasn't been put through the ringer and hardened by the process. Just keep doing your thing and eventually a good single woman will show up. Ther are out there and they come along every once in a blue moon.

Thanks guys,

Glad to see that im not alone in at least noticing this.

Yeah im sure that there alot of divorced late twenties women out there but what type of aftermath does one have to deal with?? Hmmm.

Woggle has a point about being embittered towards men. I just miss that mutual respect thing that comes with a relationship. Alot of my single guy friends are more concerned with adding notches to their belts and I think that this attitude only serves to fuel all those bitter attitudes.

I have good friends and yes alot are married. Ive heard alot of "oh i have this friend".

Just a little gunshy as this is how I met my ex. I guess I just need to man up and take another leap.

Thanks again guys.

Don't worry - not all women in this age range are bitter - I'm certainly not (i'm 30). There are normal, happy women out there - don't be afraid to put yourself out there!

The problem is that most women will pass you up for your single guy friends who want to just add notches on their belts. I don't like players but players would not exist if women weren't drawn to them like a moth to a flame. I don' get how women chase after the worst the male gender has to offer while ignoring any decent man only to become bitter towards all men after they have been through the player meat grinder a few times. This sadly is what a decent man like you has to deal with in the dating world and if you get lucky you will find a woman that appreciates a man like you.

And you think this is any different for women BEEECAUSE........?????

Do you think most men are drawn to the average, conservatively dressed girl who's sitting there reading a book? Or are they drawn to the "hot' ones who are yelling "WOOHOO, let's party guys!"

Look how many times you hear guys on here talk about wanting dates with "hot" chicks. Not too many of them seem to be after Marian the librarian.

It is much easier for a good woman to find a good man than it is for a good man to find a good woman. I have no sympathy for men that chase after women that look like Britney Spears who never was that hot even during her best days either. Men who chase after Paris and Britney wannabes deserve what they get.

Im not lookin for Britney or Paris. the doucebags of the world can have them.

Alot of times Marion the librarian can be alot more fun if you know what I mean;)

Im looking for the real deal. There are alot of cute teacher types out there but sadly they are the ones who are already taken. The lets party types have no interest in anything but partying, or at least from what I can see.
