LovelyLovely2 Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 So..I have a small thing for a guy who's completely handsome. We hang out every now and then, probably once or twice a week. We text eachother too, but not too often. I'm starting to like him more, but I really can't tell if he likes me back. Weve gone to a movie and bowling a couple times, and just hung out and talked a few times also.. they seem like dates but I don't know if thats what he thinks they are. This morning we went for coffee and when I got there, he'd already bought a coffee for me, just waiting. Anyway, my first question is, you being a guy..what makes you think a girl likes you? What makes you want her? I want him to know I kind of like him, and I want him to want me.. My next question is; how do you act, when you like a woman, to show her you like her if you aren't exactly one to "put on the moves." Thanks for all your help! Men are so confusing sometimes. ~Lovely
Road Rage Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Completely handsome men can often be very similar to completely beautiful women. By that I mean they never really have to learn to work at it. They are the only men who can play the game like a woman. They can be coy and just sit back and let the woman be the aggressor. Bottom line they have never learned to be the aggressor, often enough. He could well be used to just playing it cool until you jump his bones. And, you probably will:rolleyes: And then you will get bored with him when it becomes evident that he is full of himself, just there to bone you and you are the one doing all the work:laugh: Well, maybe not but just be ready for it ok;)

Curmudgeon Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 My next question is; how do you act, when you like a woman, to show her you like her if you aren't exactly one to "put on the moves." I act like myself. I'm a consummate gentleman. I'm also attentive. I signal the fact that I enjoy her company and would like to pursue a relationship by asking her out regularly. Calling once a day if even just to say hello, listening to her and remembering and acting on little things she might say, even if just in passing. Then things either progress "normally" or they don't! Of course, I'm old so what do I know?
Trialbyfire Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 So..I have a small thing for a guy who's completely handsome. So...what else does he have besides looks?
monkey00 Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 So...what else does he have besides looks? How about a big wallet? It's too soon so say, i think you should let this play out and see if he makes a move.
Trialbyfire Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 How about a big wallet? It's too soon so say, i think you should let this play out and see if he makes a move. Not enough. Keep going...
monkey00 Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Not enough. Keep going... man, you women are so demanding...
Trialbyfire Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 man, you women are so demanding... That's because you picked the lower rung priorities. Start at the top next time.
Green Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 That's because you picked the lower rung priorities. Start at the top next time. you best listen to Proffessor chrome he'll teach a thing or 2 about men. As for the op I say if hes going out on dates with you then he probably does like you. If you havent yet kissed try getting touchy and close to him he should go in for a kiss if he likes you .... but I guess the dark side of men is they can be screwing you and not even like you so the true test is does he keep going out with you because if so then yes he likes you!
Trialbyfire Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 you best listen to Proffessor chrome he'll teach a thing or 2 about men. As usual KMT, I don't have a clue what you're talking about but I'm sure it's sound advice from your perspective. OP, if a guy likes you, he will ask you out, as long as you give him the green light. If all he has are looks, give him a red light...

Lyssa Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I had one experience like OP's. The guy was very good looking, a gentleman - always so attentive and all that but just something about him, I didn't feel right about... Well, he turned out to be gay...
Author LovelyLovely2 Posted September 20, 2007 Author Posted September 20, 2007 He has lots of things besides looks. He's very adventuresome and sporty and just fun to be with. He's just not sure how to be sweet.. sometimes he is, and other times he could care less. I'm not sure if he even knows what he wants.

The guy was very good looking, a gentleman - always so attentive and all that but just something about him, I didn't feel right about... Well, he turned out to be gay... Yeah I had one too. He didn't turn out to be gay but was completely boring and had nothing to say...well he did make comments like "Those girls keep checking me out. Did you see it?" Uhhh....

He didn't turn out to be gay but was completely boring and had nothing to say...well he did make comments like "Those girls keep checking me out. Did you see it?" Uhhh.... Arrgghhh... I can't stand men like that. I dated a model who keeps checking out himself on the mirrors (as we passed by some) and did the catwalk too!!!
FrequentFlyer Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Honestly, just try to kiss him next time. See what happens. You'll know.
Cobra_X30 Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 You're not the only member who thought so which always makes me laugh because I most definitely don't look like or sound like one... LOL... I'm still upset about that dumb guy that thought I was a girl. Of course he thought you were a man so that makes me feel a little better.
Trialbyfire Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 LOL... I'm still upset about that dumb guy that thought I was a girl. Of course he thought you were a man so that makes me feel a little better. It doesn't bother me, so why does it bother you?
Green Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 LOL... I'm still upset about that dumb guy that thought I was a girl. Of course he thought you were a man so that makes me feel a little better. Now I think ur a girl

Now, if I said TBF... you think like a man. Thats a compliment. Now, you tell me I think like a girl. Ouch! Hmmm.... Societal implication? Perhaps from your male perspective, you view being told you think like a man is a compliment. I consider it a push. Neither a compliment or an insult because people are individuals. In general, women can be more emotionally intuitive, empathetic, where men can be more internalized, thinking of self or viewing the world in relation to self, only. If you look at it from this perspective, it's actually more of an insult.

It is very important to be able to see both sides of an issue... if you understand where the other person is coming from... then you can control the situation! We all carry an idea of gender stereotypes to a certain degree...
