shadowplay Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 I tend to have a lot of difficulty in IM conversations achieving the right tone or being natural. Something that would sound perfectly natural in real life may look stilted in text. Often I feel like I'm not really being myself over IM...I'm faking some other persona or coming off differently because it's so hard to be natural. I'm wondering if anybody else has this problem, and what (if any) solutions you may have discovered.
fray718 Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Well this is coming from a person who actually is better via IM than in real life (haha). I think the key is to just not try too hard and the less you think before writing that IM the more natural it sounds.
