kaveets Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 I had to move suddenly when my exfiance and I broke up. He has major anger issues and was really controlling and our relationship had gone down hill quickly. Well- I moved out so suddenly that I did not have time to pack my things. My ex agreed to hold on to my things for me. So, I packed what I could in my car and left. Well- I am now living 350 miles away and starting over. I now need the rest of my stuff. Well- he is making a huge deal about it. He says if we are not getting back together, then I can not step on his property. But I need my stuff! He thought I would come back eventually, I don't think he likes the fact that I am really moving on. He says if I rent a storage unit he will put my things in it and I can pick it up from there. But, I doubt he will actually put my things there. He told me before he would mail me some things, he didn't do that. Then he said he would send me $850 for my laptop he smashed, he never did that. He is full of lies. What can I do?
alwayshurt Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 He's probably lying to to you. I don't think he smashed you laptop. He's playing games to see your reaction. I would just ignore him and eventually, to try to get you back, he will hopefully make the move and give all your stuff back. I would just wait and see what happen. Good luck.
CaliGuy Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Send a mutual friend to pick your stuff up for you. Problem solved.
Author kaveets Posted September 15, 2007 Author Posted September 15, 2007 I appreciate the feedback. Here are my dilemmas: I couldn't ask a friend to pick it up, because it's not just a few things, I lived there. I have a dresser, couch, mattress, night stand, and basically everything I own. 2nd thing: I am starting a new job on the 24th and he has all my professional clothes, I only have one outfit here! I need my clothes before I start work. And he did smash my laptop, he did it while I was there, that the motivating factor to get me to move. Any other thoughts?
Trialbyfire Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Go with a couple of large, bouncer built male friends. He'll get the picture fast....
Author kaveets Posted September 16, 2007 Author Posted September 16, 2007 That is a good idea. Thanks!!
