This_Too_Shall_Pass Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 you forgot rosie odonnell with her flock of seagulls hair Jeebus. Put that in a cornfield and you don't need a scarecrow.
Author sweetbutcheeky Posted September 15, 2007 Author Posted September 15, 2007 About why men like long hair on women: I'll be pedantic and attribute it to the simple theory of natural selection. The natural mating instinct is to pick the healthiest, most fertile-looking partner. The woman with healthy (and therefore long, in the old days) hair, indicates that her hormones (estrogen in particular) are at a healthy level. Which in turn indicates the ability to reproduce. Goes along with guys being attracted to girls with hips because it indicates reproduction as well. (birthing hips) Hey I got the hair and hips going on! LOL
johan Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 I agree with the premise of this post as long as it's about the hair on a woman's head. Long, healthy hair indicates overall body health and higher standards for personal upkeep. It's feminine and allows more expression of a woman's style. I also appreciate good taste in clothes.
burning 4 revenge Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 sometimes a shorter cut can make a woman look more unique and expressive
Touche Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 sometimes a shorter cut can make a woman look more unique and expressive And other times it can make a woman look like a man trying to look like a woman.
burning 4 revenge Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 And other times it can make a woman look like a man trying to look like a woman.you have a strange fixation with transgendered people
Lyssa Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 I dated a guy with long hair... straight and very soft. I noticed that men with long hair have soft-shiny hair. That was in my teens. I was going through a phase where I liked guys with long hair but now.... not anymore. I like the GQ-cut type. Something like Richard Gere's... Women with long hair are sexy! I kinda wanted a short haircut but my face cut just won't go with short hair so for the most years of my life, I have always had long hair.
This_Too_Shall_Pass Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Goes along with guys being attracted to girls with hips because it indicates reproduction as well. (birthing hips) Hey I got the hair and hips going on! LOL If you've got it, flaunt it! But yes, the waist-to-hip ratio is one of the decisive factors regarding a woman's attractiveness. If I remember correctly it's 0.7. Overall, it's all in the symmetry. Although individual tastes differ.
Author sweetbutcheeky Posted September 15, 2007 Author Posted September 15, 2007 Of course what you choose for yourself should have to do with what suits your face shape, height, proportion and so on. Not what is popular or what guys like. I have heard that petite woman shouldn't have long hair because it makes them look shorter. Though I dunno if that's true, I guess it depends on the person. I like my hair long for now anyway until I feel like something different. I'm 5'4 so I hope it's not making me look shorter! LOL (with hair about 6 inches past my shoulder blades) Re the bald talk. On woman, please no! On guys, I have never understood why I guy with a gorgeous head of hair would shave it bald! So sad! I can understand if the hair like is receding or bald in bad areas. But why shave a perfect head of hair?! So so sad. As you can tell I like hair, though my length on a guy, not so much.
This_Too_Shall_Pass Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 ..higher standards for personal upkeep. I'll say that's not always true. Some women are actually too busy to take care of long hair. I've seen most female CEOs with shorter hair. I believe one of the reasons is that shorter hair projects a more "strong", edgy image. And the other reason is that long hair does take time to maintain. These women actually do take good care of themselves...but they can't spend an hour everyday washing and drying their hair.
Woggle Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Some women look better with short hair. Halle Berry looked much better when her hair was shorter and there was a woman on a show with Pamela Anderson that looked good with it but I forget her name.
Touche Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 you have a strange fixation with transgendered people I do?

I have never heard of that. I'm 5'6 and I'm petite but as far as I know, it doesn't make me look shorter. Or is 5'6 considered tall?? I don't know, I feel short though. A lot of petite women over where I am have long hair and they look really good! Some about your height too and they don't look short at all! Yup, I agree - a woman (even a man) should choose whatever suits her rather than what the 'in' style is or if that guy would like me better with this kinda hair.. etc.
Lyssa Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Some women look better with short hair. Halle Berry looked much better when her hair was shorter Yeah she looks better with short hair... she doesn't look good at all in that movie she was acting with Bruce Willis... Perfect Stranger, was it?

As for it being true, I dunno if I agree with it. I think I saw it on what not to wear and I usually agree with what they say. Though not sure on the long hair on petite woman, though maybe depends on the woman.
Lyssa Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Really?? Lol - sorry. In Malaysia, my height and weight would be considered petite. Speaking of shaved heads - there is one local actress here who shaved her head for a role she's playing, she has long straight hair. What a pity to see her shave off her hair. Have you all heard that when you shave your head, your hair grows even nicer? I heard of that somewhere and don't know if it's true...
This_Too_Shall_Pass Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 I'd say it all depends on the woman in question. Some women can carry off any hair length and style. Of course, long hair is pretty and feminine, and much admired. I've seen so many women whose hair was their best feature.
This_Too_Shall_Pass Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Really?? Lol - sorry. In Malaysia, my height and weight would be considered petite. I didn't think Malaysian women (as with other East-Asian women) were the tall variety. But then I'm not an expert on Malaysia.
Author sweetbutcheeky Posted September 15, 2007 Author Posted September 15, 2007 Have you all heard that when you shave your head, your hair grows even nicer? I heard of that somewhere and don't know if it's true... I know that the myth that your leg hair goes back thicker once you start shaving is false. So it's probably false for shaving your head too.
Trimmer Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Which made we wonder, what is it about long hair that guys are attracted to? Tanbark beat me to it, but my standard answer to this question is that I like the way it tickles my chest.... Tanbark is right though... manly haircuts are never attractive... Think Janet Reno! Yeah.... because I think we'll all agree that if she would only switch to a flattering haircut, Janet Reno would be Hawwwwwt !!!
sb129 Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Short hair makes chicks look like dudes. I definitely don't look like a "dude" Short hair can look good on women, especially if she has nice eyes Thanks B4R for being the short-haired womans advocate. WHat about men with no hair on top, but they grow the ring of hair long, like Benjamin Franklin Oh go the comb over.... I agree with the premise of this post as long as it's about the hair on a woman's head. Long, healthy hair indicates overall body health and higher standards for personal upkeep. It's feminine and allows more expression of a woman's style. I also appreciate good taste in clothes. I disagree. Last year I had long dark hair, and when I split with my ex, I got it cut into a posh-spice style bob (it looks better on me!- the ex hated short hair on women, so it was an act of rebellion) and had it highlighted a coppery colour. It is the highest maintenance haircut I have ever had, it needs styling every time I wash it otherwise it sticks up everywhere and makes me look like a rooster. I can't just wash it and pull it back in a ponytail if I am in a hurry, i need to dry and straighten it into shape. It looks much more stylish than it used to. It also needs trimming every six weeks. However, I have had sooooo many comments on how good it looks, that I think i will keep it this way for now.... Wonderboy likes it too, so thats the main thing.
Lyssa Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 I would like to have a Posh Spice's bob-style but I totally can't pull it off!! Hey as long as you're happy with it, hey? You should keep it that way then!
sb129 Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 The downside is having to have it cut every six weeks to keep it in shape costs a fortune. Especially in London....prices are !!
Poboy Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Strawberry blond is a combination of red and blond. If you look closely at the hairs you will see hairs that are bleach blond to dark auburn red and varieties of red and blond in between. i've never seen it so cant picture it ... visual example of the same Which is it? exception to the assumed rule
