sweetbutcheeky Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I have long strawberry blond hair and a week ago I was on a date with the the guy I am seeing and my hair was blowing in my face and I said something about needing to get a hair cut. His reaction was "No don't cut it, your long hair is really sexy". I said I was just talking about a trim, lol don't panic! Which made we wonder, what is it about long hair that guys are attracted to?

LOL Obviously there are some really short hair styles that do make you do a double take and wonder, was that a guy or girl? You know we have all done it! But there are also shorter girly hair styles too.

I don't know if any of the following are the root reason, but they're at least part of the reason. Long hair just seems more decorative. Long hair vs. short hair is kind of like when peacocks have their tail feathers flared vs. not flared. Also, the way long hair bounces and sways with a woman's movement tends to make her more beautiful. It's also hot as hell when a girl is naked and her long hair is draped over her breasts partially covering them. Along the same lines, I really like when a girl is on top during sex and her hair is dangling in my face and spilling onto my chest. Shoulder-length hair is fine but shorter than the jaw line just isn't the same anymore. It doesn't move the same way and it just makes her seem more stiff overall.
wwjd Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Which made we wonder, what is it about long hair that guys are attracted to? you know, i've always wondered this, too. i think the reasons tan suggested may generally be on target. i know i always figured that it was sex-related in some way. i remember reading somewhere that guys like long hair because they are better able to pull it during sex, but i dunno. i remember i used to have really, really long hair--down to my waist. it'd look pretty cool when i straightened it, but my exbf would always make comments that made me think he liked short hair better, so i chopped it all off and ended up with really, really short hair. think above the shoulders. bad move on my part.

Too long and I think "70's Hippie", too short makes them look like dudes. Get around shoulder length and you can have "handle bar" action going on! I just think most guys are attracted to feminine women, and short hair just doesn't portray that...

I know it's a personal preference and is going to be different for everyone, which is why I ask to get a variety of opinions. I think really long hair, around the butt is kinda gross. The kind you see one those older woman who look like they have never had a hair cut their whole life. Mine is a few inches past my shoulder blades (straight). Strawberry blond is a combination of red and blond. If you look closely at the hairs you will see hairs that are bleach blond to dark auburn red and varieties of red and blond in between.

Even though shaved heads are the current trend, I have always found women, who find my hair to be an attractive feature. Maybe it is the bad boy rebellion thing. Maybe it is because I have such beautiful hair. I like women with long hair. I don't find short hair very appealing. Ever so often, when I let it get longer, I get guys whistling, or hooting at me only to discover that they have been getting excited over a guy. They will curse at me, “Get a hair cut, damn hippie”. I find it funny.

My hair has been everything from very short (above the jawline) to very long. My hair is currently a few inches above my waist. My bf loves long hair (and has told me as much). If I were to cut my hair, I'm sure he wouldn't flip, but he would probably secretly pine away for the long glossy locks. I think it has a lot to do with what each of us defines as being feminine. Me, I think some women with short hair are ultra feminine. I do have to admit that long hair gets you noticed a lot more than short hair.

Know how long it took me to straighen that damn mane? Right now my hair is below my shoulders and I don't look like a dude.

The natural mating instinct is to pick the healthiest, most fertile-looking partner. The woman with healthy (and therefore long, in the old days) hair, indicates that her hormones (estrogen in particular) are at a healthy level. Which in turn indicates the ability to reproduce.
