fabulousgal Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Does anyone else fight with depressive feelings during these times of a breakup? Getting to a dr and therapy and all that has been taken care of. It's really just the motivation to do ANYTHING that has been lost. The only thing I will really do is volunteer work, but even as of late that has been difficult for me to get through. I work but I am waiting for my next assignment, which means LOADS OF FREE TIME. Hmpf. During a breakup this is not a welcomed thing. This morning, I realized I always care about others A LOT. What good is that if I can't care about myself enough to pull through like a warrior on this. Everyone makes mistakes, I made mine but my ex is NOWHERE near blameless.
niceguy27 Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 I think a lot of that just takes time. And really nothing else. Make sure you have "grieving" time to get your emotions out. Once you really let them go, then only after that can you start to get a handle on them again. Veg out in front of the tv for a bit, go for a walk. I started working out and I take my pent up feelings and use those to motivate me into doing it. Whenever I get a lonely feeling, I pick up the weights or do some pushups. Little things like that keep you focused and your mind off of the ex.
stevessvt Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 I am dealing with being seperated from my wife of 16 years. Its been almost 3 months. I am only now starting to do things ouside the home. Last week I joined a gym, and a new karate class.
