a4a Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I found this interesting - ran across it by mistake but made so much sense I thought others might like to read it if they haven't already. For some reason, we see divorce as a signal of failure despite the fact that each of us has a right and an obligation to rectify any other mistake we made in life. -Joyce Brothers This is so sensible.
Bobby NoBrains Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Dayum, I dunno whether it makes me happy or sad to read that :/ Just my two bits .. Bobby
Trialbyfire Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Very sensible. I don't believe a divorce is failure at all. It's foolish to keep on trying and trying and trying, while both or one of you is incredibly unhappy. If you've put 100% effort into making it work and it doesn't, martyrdom isn't the best way to live your life.
quankanne Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 it *is* a kind of failure when you're locked into the mindset of marriage as an ideal, and don't see the human side of the relationship ...
