Lauriebell82 Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Alright, I just dont get men sometimes. Things are going well with my bf, we just had our 1 year anniversary. Anyway, he had an interview for a job on the other side of the city this week, and it would be a long commute so he was thinking of moving next year. I will be graduating in May then moving back to where he lives again, where his lease ends in May. We have talked a little bit about moving together, not really deciding anything as of yet, it was all kind of "what if" stuff. We drove over the weekend to where he had his interview (he's not real familiar with the area) and we started talking about moving there in May. He started asking me about apartment stuff, like how big an apartment we would want and that we need a place with a lot of closet space. Now this is all him, I just kind of agreed. It wasn't even an "if this happens" he actually made it sound like a plan. Anyway, I know this all sounds great, but there is a weird thing that happened tonight. We were talking on the phone tonight and he was saying how he hoped he got the job. And I said, "Yeah it would be cool for us to move to a different part of town." Then he got real weird and said how I was making it sound like we were already living together and I said yeah I knew that but I have lived in that same part of town for awhile too (my parents live 10 mins from him) so it would be nice to live somewhere else. I explained why I made the comment and he said "oh well we don't have to talk about this right now, it's a long way away." Now why the heck did he get so weird? All weekend it was all him making plans to be moving in together, we even looked at apartment finder guides! I could use some insight on this, especially from guys. Was this just a guy thing? Oh, and I know May is a long way away, it was just kind of fun to talk about it and look forward to it.
birdie Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 maybe you need to slow down a bit. May is a long way away so perhaps you should drop the subject for a while. he doesn't want to plan that far ahead yet and feels pressured
