What I mean is someone being attracted to a phone voice which creates a uncontrollable image of the person in your head. So the girl or guy may have you a certain way in their head and once you meet it doesn;t match the image. Am i clear?

maybe. although I've only found that with email/online contact. if I like talking to somebody on the phone and they don't sound weird then I usually like them in real life too
