emmaUK Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 to all you diet-aholics... what is the worst diet you have ever put yourself through??? i think i have tried and tested most diets and even made up a few of my own. nowadays i tend not to diet and just eat things in moderation and try to keep myself fit. probably the worst thing i ever did was when i was working in a nail salon about 6 year ago. id get up in the morning and eat cereal then i ate the same thing EVERY DAY for lunch... that went on for months and months. id cook a jacket potato in the microwave before i left for work and i used to mix tuna with 2% fat cottage cheese instead of mayonnaise becuase i didnt want to eat hardly any fat. id dump that on top of the potato and take it to work. id eat it COLD at lunch time. it was soooooooooo nasty and ther were times id practically be throwing up when i ate it coz it tasted so horrible. then dinnner that evenign would be similar very low fat meals on rotation. every so often id have a massive binge coz i was obviously desperate to taste something nice. another time about 7-8 years back was when i deseratly needed to lsoe weight for a NYE party and for 2 weeks i ate half a 440g tin of baked beans with 1 slice of bread for breakfast and the other half of the tin with another slice of bread for dinner ... and that was it. EVERY DAY i dont know how and why i put myself thru that and wouldnt dream of it ever again.. it got me slim but i was hungry and ratty and i bet my body was propa under-nourished. anyway .... worst diets ever?!?!?!?
This_Too_Shall_Pass Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Wow, you just reminded me of my senior highschool years when my eating patterns were like those of a Somalian famine victim. It was just so stressful back then, school and then all the study sessions and the lab sessions. I guess one reason I deliberately didn't eat was because I didn't want to feel like "lying down and sleeping". Bad reason, I know. I'd start with tea around 6:30 a.m. Ate a handful of peanuts for lunch. And between then and dinner, nothing. By dinner I was usually so exhausted that I didn't eat much anyway. This went on for 5-6 months, and everyone was surprised and kind of worried at how skinny I got. My parents were a bit freaked out a first and used all sorts of tactics to get me to eat full meals...but then they let me do my own thing. They knew I'd get tired and be back on track eventually, hahah. And I did. A few months of the Somalian diet and I was more than ready to be sensible again.
