marriedandsad Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I have a son who is almost 2 (he will be in December). Lately he has started hitting kicking and biting...but only me, not my husband. I discipline him, and he either laughs at me or makes this really sad boo face. My left arm has huge bruises on them from him beating the snot out of me one day. He is normally a VERY well behaved little man, precious as can be. But all of a sudden he's doing that stuff. Also he isn't talking. He jabbers, but the only clear words I get out of him are "No", "Okay", "Daddy", "Mommy" and that's about it. I am debating on contacting the local child development office for an assessment to see if he's on track. Any suggestions?
babydoll6 Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I have a two yr old also. He started to go throught he biting stage but as I did with my 3 older children, when he bit me the first time I bit him back and he hasn't bit since...He realized it hurts.... As far as the speech, I have 3 boys and all have progressed at different stages. My oldest started taling very early on, my second boy was alot later and needed speech therapy, my little girl, well she is a female to say the least, she learned an hasn't stopped..lol..My last one(2) he talks, not in full sentences but he is trying...What I do is when he wants something I make him say it..If he wants a drink I will work with him teaching him how to say it. Once I know he can say it, I won't give in to the point and grunt thing...Now he says " drink" when he wants one. I hope this helps....
