amaysngrace Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 It's not an engagement ring. He said it doesn't come with any attachments. He wants me to wear it on my engagement ring finger though. It was for no special occasion. He said he bought it because he loves and appreciates me. And he wanted to get me something nice. It's not a big diamond. But I absolutely love it! It's better than any of the big diamonds I've ever gotten from any other guy before. I can't believe we've gotten through five seasons together and I'm still completely taken by this man. He still provokes the butterfly stage in me. And brings out my strongest desires. What's up with THAT?
Ruby Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 How lovely! Well done you!!!!!!!!! I wish you a lifetime of that lovely feeling you have!
peace_pipe Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I find it a little odd. I wonder how many other girls he bought diamond rings for. Seems like a waste of money to me. Is he good with managing money? I would much rather put a down payment on a house than jewelry.
Author amaysngrace Posted September 10, 2007 Author Posted September 10, 2007 Thank you Ruby. I'm not looking for a lifetime but it's sweet for right now. I read your post and I was in an abusive marriage where I wasn't treated right at all. My exH would buy me the most extravagant jewelry on holidays to make up for all the ways he mistreated me the rest of the time, at least that's how I saw it. Anyway, that's why this is so special to me. He didn't have to get me a present, he wanted to. It's nothing major at all. It's definitely not worth a down payment on a home or anything. Yet it means so much to me.
Art_Critic Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Well Congrats.. Is it a promise ring ?
peace_pipe Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Yet it means so much to me. I feel that it's really materialistic of you to place so much emphasis on it. It literally sickens me how many women place such importance on jewelry. I personally don't buy women jewelry and never will. There are too many other things that the money could be put to better use for. Tell me, would you have been just as excited if he would have bought you 100 shares of stock? Probably not, but buying the stock would have put more emphasis on a future and security. He'll never get the money out of that ring.
peace_pipe Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Well Congrats.. Is it a promise ring ? Yeah, she promises to keep it once it's over.

DOH it's not about him getting money out of it....... :lmao: Wow I would love 100 shares of stock! I loved my squishy socks my H got me. ( I have a squishy sock fetish) Socks, remote control car, stocks, or jewelry..... if it makes you happy...... who cares.... at least he didn't get her something should wouldn't like...... you give the gift that makes that person getting it happy, not what you value or would desire. And you don't give it thinking of how you can dispose and profit from it yourself later.......... well if you are cheap or a prick I guess you do give those kinds of gifts.
a4a Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Yeah, she promises to keep it once it's over. Jealous or Bitter?
Author amaysngrace Posted September 10, 2007 Author Posted September 10, 2007 Well Congrats.. Is it a promise ring ? Thanks A_C. I don't know what it is...he knows I'm freakish when it comes to commitment so I don't think he wanted to imply too much. He knows me pretty well. I just love him in my life. This morning before work he brought me a bag of tomatoes his dad grew in his garden. He knows I love locally grown tomatoes. I can eat them just with salt on them. He's very nice to me. And it's very nice to be appreciated. Did you get married yet? Did she start puking yet??????
Art_Critic Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I just love him in my life. Did you get married yet? Did she start puking yet?????? That part is the part that matters... how he impacts your life... Yeppers.. Got married last night.. but I don't want to hijack your thread.. I updated my other thread... Oh yeah.. The morning sickness she is all done with ,she had a tough go of it...

Ya'll go ahead and waste your money. Somebody has to fill the coffers at the jewelry store. Remember, diamonds are a girls best friend.

The morning sickness she is all done with ,she had a tough go of it... Boy you move quickly you silly clown. No time to second guess yourself, huh? I guess that's the way to do it...jump with both feet first. I'd be having such a panic attack right now. Can you still breathe?
Author amaysngrace Posted September 10, 2007 Author Posted September 10, 2007 oh my...... it is bitterness. Isn't that attractive. Hey you, where the hell have you been? I missed ya! You should lay off the hooka. That stuff wastes your braincells.
Lizzie60 Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I love diamonds... flowers.... perfume... lingerie... trips... money.... Aren't they nice.... Good for you!
Trialbyfire Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 amg, that's sweet of him to get you something that represents how he feels. Congrats.
peace_pipe Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I love diamonds... flowers.... perfume... lingerie... trips... money.... Aren't they nice.... Good for you! Notice how a good, moral man is somehow omitted from your post. Materialistic?
Lizzie60 Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Notice how a good, moral man is somehow omitted from your post. Materialistic? very much so!
a4a Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Notice how a good, moral man is somehow omitted from your post. Materialistic? My let's not pick on Lizzie about (m)oral men..... she loves (m)oral men, tan men, tall men - just not broke nurse men with dentures. I don't think Lizzie wants the kinda gal that wants a moral long lasting forever love you kinda guy. I love moral men - but I like moral men that give diamonds, trips, money, and other things even more!

With this being your response to what AG expressed as a wonderful moment, I am clear on why you are on this site complaining about women. It seems you have no idea what it is to be made to feel special? That's too bad. And it's too bad for the women you date.

I told my partner that he can buy me a huge, fat, FAKE diamond if he really wants to but I'd rather not display blood money on my fingers to provoke envy in all. I don't think you're bitter. Just different, like me your attitudes are not generally accepted because it takes a moment of deeper thought to grasp them. No one can accuse me of being a bitter dumped man, being that I'm a woman involved in a happy, stable relationship for the past 2 years.

B_O I don't think you'd want to be categorized with this guy and his the-world-is-against-me-victim mentality. His attitude is hard to grasp because he fluctuates from stable to instability pretty quickly. He sees only what applies to him. If you try to open his eyes he only closes them tighter. How dreadful.
