how do you guys fall for other LS posters without even knowing what they look like or only having a vague idea? Maybe I'm superficial, but I need a strong mental picture of a person to fall for them.

you can correspond with folks from LS on other ways. most of the old posters know what i look like - and i know what they look like...

it's only superficial though - as beauty and attraction are way beyond physical appearance!

I've had a couple of virtual crushes over the years. Never let them know, though and I'm fairly certain they would be really surprised to know it. Its pretty fun, actually.

Its a Cyrano type thing I guess - falling for someone's words and thoughts instead of their faces/bodies. Though, I have to say that one of those crushes I mentioned has used his face before in his avatar when he was going under a different name, and I found him to be quite handsome.

I did have one disillusioned crush at one point, I'll admit. Currently though, I have a certain few that I really respect, no crushes though.

I haven't had any crushes, although sometimes it gets obvious if people do have crushes on eachother it shows in the posts!

There are some posters on here who I respect immensely, look forward to their posts, and would like to be friends with IRL. (regardless of what they look like). I think geography is an obstacle. :(

Really? Since being on LS, and meeting my BF online (on a separate dating site) I can really appreciate how people can fall for eachother without knowing what they look like.

Yeah.. the problem with that is that it was really a crush on the avatar..

I am guilty of having sinful thoughts over a few avatars on here.

Ladies please stick to a nature scene avatar and not some distracting body part... it really distorts my thinking.

I know at least two LSers who are drop dead gorgeous, and I'm always left applauding "right on" whenever they post. And there are a handful of others I'd like to know better too. I think if I knew I was in the same city as any of them, I'd perhaps try to develop an online friendship. I'd be hesitant to date due to the privacy on this forum.

But don't you find that people tend to be pretty different in person? Often I'll have great chemistry with somebody online and none in person.

I haven't been around long enough to develop any crushes, but I like that poster (xxxxxxx) personality from what I've seen.

I had a three month crush-thing with someone on LS. My first venture into a cyberspace connection/LDT.

It happened right after my divorce got rubberstamped so I was at a vulnerable time. In hindsight, it wasn't the wisest decision. All I can do is thank the little angel sitting on my left shoulder who was looking out for me, that we never met.

There have been various posters, past and present, who've intrigued and delighted me with their posts. I wouldn't describe these as crushes so much as cyber-connections. It's a little like travelling. You can develop quite intense connections with strangers - but they're often very short-lived.

I had an LDR which was mostly conducted by email but it wasn't someone I met through LS. So long as it doesn't cross any boundaries I don't see any harm in two consenting LSers having some fun

I think that if I had the choice... I would rather choose to meet a female LSer... she is just hilarious... I love funny people! :bunny:

I'm straight btw.. :D

i have never had any kind of online relationship with a stranger...friendly or otherwise

Aww, that's so sweet. But I'm no angel.

Isn't this one of the key problems with this? People seeing an attractive person and, just because they're attractive, agreeing with them.

Haha...you're actually the little devil sitting on my right shoulder, urging me onwards, with upwards.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say I have a crush but there is one who very much intrigues me.

There is another who I often disagree with but what she writes in between makes me think highly of her.

now that i think about it - some of the ones that intrigued me the most don't post anymore. :(:(

that was about two years ago when some very wise folks used to be regulars.

we still have wise advice from the regulars - but some have now gone away. so sad.

I've had a few LS crushes over the years, some of which materialized into real life interactions with varied results. :D

There are two male posters I think are totally hot! One knows I think he is, the other probably doesn't...

I've had a few LS crushes over the years, only one of which materialized into a real life interaction. However, for the most part my "crushes" on LS men are based more in part on true respect for them as people...more of a "Oh, I wish I knew him IRL" kinda thing.
