Author Onelife Posted September 12, 2007 Author Posted September 12, 2007 Is she back with HIM then? I don't keep up with celebrity goss much. Where have I been?!!!!! And, yes, they do deserve each other. They do say love is blind, don't they? Love is blind! Yeah. Story of Pamela Anderson, Kid Rock and Tommy Lee is just an example to show that every situation is different. We'll never know why they do what they do until we find ourselves in that exact same situation. It was never my dream (who would?) to grow up and become OW but well....
frannie Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 It's because these men were never planning on leaving in the first place and they give you that line about an unhappy marriage to get you hooked. Why do women keep falling for this? I think it's because of the different ways men and women tend to view marriage (and yes, I'm generalising). A MM says to a (potential) OW, my marriage is terrible, I'm in a very unhappy relationship. And the woman THINKS that therefore he'll eventually do what SHE would do, which is to leave the unhappy relationship, get a divorce. Not realising that men and women are very different in this respect. If a married man falls in love with another woman, and even if his current relationship is the absolute pits, it's still better for him to remain married. While a woman is far more likely to leave a marriage in that situation. Doesn't mean the man isn't in love. But women get all caught up in 'if he loves me he'll leave', focusing on his feelings, etc. Only that's really no predictor of his actions at all. And you're right, most unhappily married men are not looking to divorce. They're looking for a happy relationship AND a marriage. And have no real problems with those being with two different women.

This is interesting and I tend to agree with that. Just the different way of thinking between men and women. This also applies to relationship in general. By all mean, MM gains the benefits of this - have the best of both worlds.
