Tess2005tx Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I have been with my bf for 2 yrs. It has been great. Never had a fight. We are always together. Now, he is leaving for Iraq and wants me to be there when he comes home. But, I have not heard "I love you" and with all the romantic moments and parties I had hoped I would get a surprise promise ring. He has called me 5 times a day for the last 2yrs. I don't want to add pressure 2 wks before he leaves but I don't want to be a fool either. I won't send him a "Dear John" letter while he is over there. So, am I stuck? His mind is already on the mission. Any advice?
norajane Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Have you ever told him that you love him? Do you love him?
saturnalia Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Maybe he is just the silent type who is unable to verbalize his feelings. Has he said other things to you to indicate his feelings and committment? At this point, though, the two of you need to talk about the status of the relationship and solidify things before he leaves.
Beauty28 Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Umm..... Yeah..... it's hard to say because some guys have problems expressing their feelings. So maybe he really does love you. On the other hand, think of it like this.... If he had said I loved you and wants you to be there when he gets back would you wait??? If not then maybe you don't love him either.
