Author uniqueone Posted September 4, 2007 Author Posted September 4, 2007 My whole life is one series of rejections. Honestly, I don't know if I could handle being accepted. I'm just used to it, even creative in my coping. Do you try getting "out there"?
Author uniqueone Posted September 4, 2007 Author Posted September 4, 2007 well darned near looks like I double posted......
underpants Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I thought you were fussing at me. Aren't I allowed to have a crybaby day?
Cobra_X30 Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 You work for the IRS then? LOL... Are you kidding? Nobody rejects the IRS! Its the only legal form of organized crime. I filed for an extension last year... and they whacked my parakeet! I'm pretty sure they mailed me a dead fish too! I just refused delivery. Jokes aside, I hope you understand my point... because it really will help you handle the rejection.

I'm just used to it, even creative in my coping. Thats a completely different issue unders. You need to be able to learn from rejection and grow. You can only cope so much. You often get what you expect out of life.

Author uniqueone Posted September 4, 2007 Author Posted September 4, 2007 You often get what you expect out of life. Oh pulease...tell that to the kid in Ethiopia..... This may be true to an EXTENT but it also has to do with being in the right place at the right time, your emotions, your health, abuses you've dealt with, the resources that were available to you,.........and so on....... It's not that simple and usually those who make that statement like you've made above haven't experienced a lot of hardships. I'm not trying to be harsh, I'm just saying what I've seen.

Are you trying to say something about Ethiopia? Is that supposed to be some place where expectation, hard work, and ambition dont apply? Usually those who make that statement are successful. Which doesnt always mean they had an easy life. All poeple have hurdles to jump. Some were born blind, some not too smart, some with bad parents, some with rich parents... ect. The point is this. Aim for the moon and miss, or aim for a pile of poo and hit. Your choice! Oh, I apologize about the failure to follow up with you on walls. I spent the weekend on a island without much internet connectivity. However, since we are on the topic your expectations relate somewhat to your walls!
Author uniqueone Posted September 5, 2007 Author Posted September 5, 2007 Ok, ok, ok.....here's an update......went to the trail today. As I was ready to get on the trail, saw Southern guy pull up. I acted like I didn't see him and went on. About 45 mins. later, miles out on the trail, he catches up to me and starts talking to me....introduces himself too....(so of course I had to introduce MYSELF as well). A few mins later though, I was at the part on the trail that I usually turn around at (he keeps going further on) so that cut it short. That was fine with me. Mr. Parking Lot guy wasn't there today. But I DID chat with a bald biker guy in the parking lot (he was there to go jogging). Imagine that....me being social...... Then there's the guy from the personals...Mr. "I think your ad is funny but I don't know what else to say". I finally got tired of his messages that went nowhere so I sent him a message this evening that said "Glad you thought my ad was entertaining. If you're interested in getting to know each other further, let me know." Boy oh boy.....I sure did get blunt in my old age.....LOL! It's true....I pretty much just come out and say whatever is on my mind these days. And you know...it works too I've found! And frankly, if it didn't, I wouldn't care. He emailed me back right away and said he was DEFINATELY interested and he wasn't sure if I was would be interested in someone from his area or if I wanted somewhere that was more cosmopolitan. Well.....geez....I'm really sure you were going to find that out just by telling me how funny my ad was, now weren't you??? (can you believe this is someone who has the highest level of education???) I haven't responded yet. I need to wait to respond because right now I'd probably say "Look dumb*****.....who put the crack in your Fruit Loops this morning?" So....I'd better hold off a bit... And lastly, we have the personals guy that I talked to on the phone last night that seemed decent. Haven't heard from him. What a surprise! I'm not concerned that I haven't heard from him today but I DO like a guy who will email me between calls. It forms more of a connection I think. I know others who feel this way too....but then I think about it and......what did we do before email? We only had the phone calls. I think we've acquired an umbilical cord of sorts with email today!
