Hi, i have recently had two issues posted by me on this community concerning infidelity and religion issues/differences in my relationshio and while i was getting advice...somebody raised an issue i did not pay attention to until now...is it advisable to date a man who is ONLY two years older than you are which is the case for me...am 27 he is making 29 soon...infact that should make it less tahn two exact years... And i have grown up being told i act/reason older than my actual age...secondly i have always had and made friends with people who are either 7-15years older and when we talk, we just seem to be on the same wavelength...as in, i fit in very comfortably with people much older...

often times too, i get bored when my age mates talk about things and i dont feel like i want to discuss them,...This is not to brag about myself but present a problem..when we talk with my boyfriend who has been my friend for ages anyway...he seems to have a 'baby' outlook to dating, marriage love...things we did in hihg school...i also feel more exposed intellectually and more intelligent on issues than he is...dod you think this might cause a problem for the rlationship/future marriage...

I hope this is the right forum for this

I really don't think that chronological age has alot to do with it unless you are sleeping with someone under the age of 16, which is illegal in many parts of the world.

I think MATURITY can be separated from AGE, and many people are more or less mature than other people of the same age as them.

Maturity (or lack of) comes from life experiences, upbringing, values, education, attitudes towards various things, exposure to other things etc etc.

EMOTIONAL maturity is different again, and people's emotional maturity can vary greatly according to previous relationship history and many other factors.

Applying a blanket rule such as "only date someone two years older than you" is silly, and rules out hundreds of potential partners.
