coco_milkshake Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 I have gained weight mainly in my thighs, hips and butt area. I also have stretch marks in my inner thighs and just below the butt region and its hideous. Anyone know any exercises to tighten or lose the weight around these areas and what to use for the stretch marks? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.
This_Too_Shall_Pass Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Common knowledge is that you can't spot-reduce - you can lose weight overall, and that will reduce your problem areas to an extent. How about an 30-40 min. of medium-impact cardio everyday - like cycling or running? You can also try something like Pilates, it will improve your muscle tone. For the stretch marks, I've heard of specific creams...let me google it.. OK, there are quite a few brands out there...Striae, Stripeptin, etc. You may want to read up on them.

I am currently using Palmer's cocoa butter cream which seems to be doing to trick to make my skin tighter and make the stretch marks less visible. I will read up on the others you have suggested. sb129 Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Get some Bio-Oil. You can get it from Boots or Superdrug, and its amazing for stretchmarks! I don't think you need to lose the weight tho CM, you sounded like you were getting too skinny at one point there. If you have gained weight due to less stress, then thats great!

Thanks TTSP. Explaining Pilates would be a long paragraph, but in a nutshell, Pilates are exercises that can be performed with or without resistance equipment. They help in increasing muscle tone, strength, and fexibility. Google it - you'll get all the info! If you have access to a gym, ask them about pilates equipment or training. If not, there are pilates kits available in the market, so you can do it yourself.
