No ex talk No downer things, topics that make you sound negative. No long phone call, it should be under 30 minutes. How about 5 things you can talk about? Ask her about her trip, where did she go. Travel, places you have been. Places around your city that enjoy visiting. You could work in a meeting request. Upbeat and happy should be the tone.

Plus, let her take the lead in the conversation. Don't be afraid of a few moments of silence. Always a good idea to keep the first few calls under 10 minutes. Else she might think you're trying too hard. Besides, you likely don't know each other enough just yet to have a long conversation.

Ask yourself, what wouldn't you want to know or what would turn you off if someone was talking to you. Talking about subjects here.
