Since I've limited the number of people I've slept with, I expect that whomever I sleep with in the future, will have similar values, as well. It's that simple.

I don't expect someone who has the limited numbers like I do but I do expect that they would have been more discerning, than to have engaged in interactions with a hooker. I would feel the same way about anyone who's engaged in sex with hundreds of women. That kind of mentality doesn't correspond with mine and more importantly, how little do you value yourself that you need that kind of affirmation or how low would you stoop to use your body like that for cash.

A man can still basically be discerning even he's gone to a prostitute once.

Can someone explain in detail exactly why a guy who, hypothetically, sleeps with a few prostitutes years ago when he was totally single is worse than a guy that has dated and slept with several women. I'd just like to hear the rational behind this opinion because I hear it so much and don't get it. I don't think its worse at all. The problem is that people don't always advertise how many people they have slept with prior to hooking up with someone new, whereas paying for sex has alot more stigma attached to it. My BF and I have a rule about our past sexual history that if you think the information will bother you, don't ask the question. As long as we are both STD free, faithful to eachother, and respectful of eachothers sexual tastes (to a point- nothing kinky so far!!!), I don't really think it matters too much. We are doing great....

I believe the fact that he shared these sleezy tidbits of his past implies that he is capable of doing it again, and he is letting you know what he is capable of (in other words, he still might go down on strippers and indeed might pay one for more services.) If he wasn't like that still, he would want to BURY these parts of his past and would not tell a potential girlfriend this. He is letting you know upfront that he's a sleeze.

There is a certain type of men that visit prostitutes. I had plenty of male friends and some have been single for years and I have jokingly told them to visit a prostitute and they were disgusted (and they don't even know how I feel about this issue). One is a virgin, mid 20's rejected by tons of girls, but he still has enough morals not to do it. Also, what someone did in the past is very good predictor of future behaviour in 99% of the cases. If he has been to the prostitute once, even when single and desparate for sex, imagine if the two of you get serious and he is away or for some reason you don't have sex as often, it's a lot easier to just go to the prostitute if he has done it before. Sort of like getting a second piercing or a tattoo.

I had no problems because A) the women were from countries that regularly test for STIs and STDs - whichever you call it. B) He had all his *shots* and I have seen the papers to confirm. Mind you, I always have the papers before I do the deed for my own sanity. You can't be too carefull these days with stats of 1 in 4 having herpes at some point. Mostly for myself, I think it depends on the 'where' the prostitute came from. There is a hierarchy amongst prostitutes which no one can defeat. Some are more hygenic and then there are others - i.e. Thailand, Malaysia, etc that are just plain nerve racking. Men that travel in their own country, like the US, perhaps, can be more accepted for sleeping with a prostitute. Where as it is the opposite for military men. There are a lot of military servicemembers who go overseas and do port visits - where of course their *needs* can be eagerly met with foreign prostitutes of a lesser stature. These prostitutes rarely get tested, they are often doped up, and their *boss* could give a rats butt about their health. Sadly prostitution is a huge business and makes a tougher battle to win for military over civillian men and women's acceptance of past hook-up - transaction or concent irrelevant! My two cents.

It doesn't matter is some countries regularly test for STDs or not, you can get them whatever nationality, gender, class or sexual orientation you are. Prostitution is a high risk occupation with regards to STDs regardless of which country you are from, however I agree some do countries have better sexual education systems in place within their healthcare systems. Interestingly, where I come from (New Zealand) prostitution is legal, however, the prostitutes have to be over 18, hold a permit, pay tax, and have mandatory STD checks. Paying for sex is paying for sex though..... whatever way you look at it.

A hooker has slept with hundreds and even thousands of men...for money. Disgusting. There are a billion better ways to earn money. I'd rather clean toilets, than hook. I'm 45 - and don't know hardly anyone that didn't give it a whirl once or twice in the 70's or 80's. True the past is the past and people make mistakes but come on, a prostitute? We are doing great.... Totally agree with this. And BEG, sorry but I didn't agree with you at all. That whole thing about future indicator in 99% of cases, blah blah...no. You have to look at the guy's character and morals, his reason for going to one in the first place, and how long ago it was. You can't just make a blanket statement like that and paint all men who have been to one with one brush.
