We get on great and everyone thinks were well suited. We're even going on a holiday in a couple of weeks with my mate, her fella and a few more of his mates. He lives about 80 miles away from me and works abroad alot for weeks at a time so I don't get to see him much. I was chatting to my friend about him yesterday and she told me something that I think has changed my opinion of him. A few years ago, he was working away and slept with a prostitute. He only did it once and said he 'just wanted some'. He also stuck his tongue inbetween some lapdancer's legs when she crouched down really low whilst dancing on the bar in front of him! He doesn't know I know about this but I can't get the though of it out of my head. Also, how do know he wouldn't do it again when he's away for a few weeks? Should I be bothered about this as it was before we met? Or is it only certain types of blokes who would do this type of thing? I'm certainly not a prude, we all have a past. He wasn't seeing anyone at the time but it's really shocked me that he would do that. What does evereyone else think? I could do with a bit of advice please I am sure this has all been said already, but if the two of you are not exclusive in any way, then it is fair game for him, but his actions do show you just how interested he is in you, so you should probably move on.

Now I know what's really important in a person. And their past...one that isn't so horrible to me, is not one of those things. It's who they are NOW and in the recent past that mattered/matters to me.

You'd have to speak to the person and ask them what the circumstances are before you make that judgment. It wouldn't be something I'd be thrilled with, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker either. A man who has cheated and cheats of course would be.

We agree that it's egregious and just plain disgusting. We're talking about whether a man who has been with one is worthy of being a good partner or not. I say it depends on the circumstances and how often. It would depend whether he was honest about it. It would depend on lots of things for me. I just wouldn't out of hand dismiss a guy who had been with one before he met me. And I don't judge those who would. I just wouldn't. And I consider my standards to be very high. They're very high in the areas that really, really count. And in my book, that wouldn't count as being all that important.

As long as the guy was single when he went to see one, I would not see that as any worse than a guy who slept with a woman after he treated her to a nice dinner. Same thing in my book.

And also, it's not always true that the hooker doesn't know the guys name..but that's not even relevant to the argument.
