Emily55555 Posted March 25, 2003 Share Posted March 25, 2003 i really liked this guy....i told him.....he asked me out...we r going out......but now i dont like him anymore...and im pretending that i do like him (i dont know why)....maybe becuz im scared 2 dump him................how do i?? guys hate it when you say "lets just be friends" and i dont want to just go up to him and say i dont like u...thats the truth but its mean!! and i dont think i could do it. hes been dumped alot and he gets really down about it. Just make sure to sugar coat it a bit, saying that you like him as a person but you just didn't feel the chemistry. Besides, I'm getting the impression that you are in high school, god knows how many times I've ended a relationship or have been dumped in high school. Maybe you might be surprised. I can't tell you how many ladies I've gone out with that I wasn't very much into at first...some even disliked...but I felt it was important to give things a chance and it paid off. If after seeing him a few times you see no hope at all, you may need some counselling yourself to see just why you went so bonkers for him in the first place. If you don't feel there's a future in this after seeing him a few times, then accept no more dates. Yes, that "let's be friends" stuff is a lot of crap and people don't buy it. If you just don't want to go out with him now, simply call him and cancel. You owe him no reason. Just tell him a situation has arisen in your life that may take some time to deal with and you are unable to make your date with him. He may just get the hint. You're a very fickly lady.
