You may not look it but you are still 39 years old so why do woman make this silly statements. Oh that's right, everyone has to make everything sound good. I'm 43 but I don;t look a day over 40-lol
Touche Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Why does that bother you? What do you mean "what does it mean?" Take my picture here for example. I was 44 in that picture. If I were doing on line dating, for instance I would say that I'm 45 but don't really look my age. I would say that based on what most 44/45 year old women look like and based on how old people always think I am (mid-30's). What's so wrong about that? It's just a way to describe yourself. And if it's the truth, and they're not misrepresenting the fact that they physically look younger than their age, what's so wrong with saying that?

Maybe they feel that they aren't as attractive to you as a younger woman would be. Which is bs in my book. I could see how 10 years could make someone hesitate, but not a few years. And again, my ex husband and I were 12 y apart and the age difference has nothing to do with our divorce (at least for me, I know he was concerned about it). When women make a big deal out of the age difference, that's where it becomes a problem, pretty sure the guy wouldn't have cared otherwise. Self confidence, again.... The guy I am seeing is two years younger than me. I don't care, we are the same age in my head. He actually looks older than me, shave his head because he's losing his hair, etc .. I couldn't care less about that kind of details. Touche if that's your pic, you're really attractive!

It's no surprise then that women who really look younger than their age, would want to tell you that, DA. It's understandable. Maybe they're afraid that you would reject them based on their age alone but if they tell you that they don't look like age, then you might consider them.

He's 24, my friend, and whining because now he has two twin brothers age 4 Her husband doesn't care, he's in love with her. Actually my friend says that's why he tolerates this guy around (they don't get along), because this guy truly is in love with his mom, takes care of her. I met her once, she looks really good!

Men have much, much less of a clue about this, and if a woman doesn't put enough effort in, they accuse her of "letting herself go", or conversely, if a woman looks good for her age and has the AUDACITY to be proud of it, men slam her for being conceited. Its a no win situation. Why not sell yourself? You're worth it! Lol. I am noticing a few things about myself as I approach 30 (not ancient, I know, but you do start to notice little changes), and to look well, I need to look after myself more than I bothered to do when I was 20. If I drink too much, eat crap, don't get enough sleep, then i look terrible. If I look half as good as Touche when i am 44, then I will definitely be tooting my own trumpet!
