Difference between harmless flirting and really liking someone?

How do you know when a girl is just harmlessly flirting with you/trying to get to know you versus really liking you?

 

There's this girl who I've known for a few weeks. She's been acting really flirty and speaking in a roundabout manner that makes me think she likes me. But then at other times she seems distant and shy.

 

I don't know if she's just friendly or if she likes me. I get the feeling she does, but would only say I'm say 70% sure. She's hard to read.

Ugh... I've been there. Its tough. You won't know for sure until you make a move. Ask her out and see what her reaction is.

Yeah, some people are just naturally flirty. You can never really tell....unless you make a move.

 

I know that with guys I have flirted with, I would flirt a bit....then back off, and then flirt again. But then again, I'm kinda shy.

LB has it right. Ask her out.

 

Also, review how you approach her or not, in times that she seems shy or distant. She maybe picking up cues from you and reacting as such.
