I'd mentioned that the woman I'm with had also been abused by her ex and that she has never met someone like me who treats her so well. She keeps wondering when I'll turn into a monster. But I'm glad that some of these fairy tales have a happy ending. Yes, there is drama. And sometimes I do wonder what kind of hold her ex had over her that she didn't leave him after the first few "incidents". But I don't think I've ever dated a single woman whether in my 20's or now my 30's where there was no drama. Even my parents had their share of fights. I can't imagine a relationship without even a little healthy conflict. Just wouldn't ever want to be in one where the conflict turns personal or violent.
