So it is hard to put a time limit on love because it is different for everybody. But how soon is too soon to say I love you? I told my mother that I loved this guy I've been seeing for over 2 months, and she was like, "What? Isn't it a little too soon?" So what are your opinions?

You know, this is the exact issue that brought me to LS, so I have a special interest in your post (bummer for you).

This is an important issue, but I personally think it gets blown a little out of proportion at times. You mention 2 months. I was struggling with it at about the 2 month mark myself. Just ask yourself if he's "in it" with you. That is, does he reciprocate genuine emotions? Are you guys exclusive (this should be a prerequisite)?

If you question his commitment to the relationship, I would say it's a bad idea. You definitely don't want to do it to "snag" him or to get him to show a sign of commitment that isn't already there. If you don't question it, then go for it. Anyway, do you want someone who would be heavily involved with you and then freak out when you express love? That's for you to answer.

I believe only you can answer that question but you have to caution the differance between Love and Lust. I do not put time frames on such a thing. I fell for a man that I know I loved and still do in a short period of time but I knew him for many years before just got to know him differently.

Ask yourself a few questions: Would you put your life on the line for this pereson, can you see yourself spending the rest of your life with this person and are the both of you being who you really are?
