kamiswhite Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Aside from the obvious culture differences and the fact that the majority of asian parents that I have met want their sons to find asian women, is there any other reasons why it seems that asian men tend to stick to their own? I know that there are asian men out there that like caucasian women, but I'm only talking about the majority not ALL.

What culture differences? If they were born or raised in the US, their culture is and should be whatever they choose. Not some racial culture they arbitrarily happened to be born into. I can understand fresh Asian immigrants preferring only Asian women i'm asian, but completely americanized, and I just seem to prefer whites and asians only
Author kamiswhite Posted August 11, 2007 Author Posted August 11, 2007 I suppose that a lot of asian guys that a meet are americanized though they still feel pressure from their more traditional parents to date asian women...most of the asian men I've met don't speak english in the household. I do wish there were more asian guys like you that would at least consider a white girl.

It depends are where you are looking. There are a few threads about this situation the but from asian men having problems pursuing caucasian women. I would do a search on of the threads. Yes alot of the traditional parents prefer and even demand that their sons and even daughters find an asian counterparts. I'm sure some of the traditional reasons are that the parents want to communicate with the other. The understanding of the culture is there. I am sure there are many others excuses if not reasons.
squeak Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 That's a good point jerbear, also general consensus is that the woman is the one who gets the man to choose her and maybe Asian men have not felt that lead in enough from Caucasian women. I think that is slowly changing though.

You can ignore question this if you want.... First, I don't need your permission to ignore a question or not. But thanks for the offer. Pulling your leg about what? Where I am we have a strong asian population, and I see the opposite of what you do, believe it or not. We also have no prejudice against tall, strong, and women with commanding voices, so maybe this issue you have stems from your observation? You may think you are going off topic, but actually I think it might tie in somehow. It may be you are only seeing women as how you choose to see them and the reality of what is going on around you. Stemming from the original question in the post 'why it seems that asian men tend to stick to their own?' and how you see it changing, but not considering the fact its only in your area, which is hardly a meaningful conclusion from how the question was originally stated. Just seems your thinking is a little narrow, both in general conclusions and your observations.

Oh, but I am the one that pointed out a global view should be used, and not just a narrow population of immediate surroundings, which you used to base your conclusions on. I do not see taking into consideration of a global population of the country regarding the asian population is narrow minded. And also since i do not have a prejudice against women with specific traits, this also makes my conclusion more broad, compared to mocking women that are tall and/or strong. So again, I think that stems from your conclusion about caucasian relationships with asians.
VIP Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 From my experience I have always been under impression that Asian men and men of any other nationality, except some white Americans, would love to be involved with a caucasian woman, provided she is not obese or ugly.
