If your best friend's husband hits on you, do you take it as a compliment or an insult?

Posted

I would take it as a huge insult to my bestfriend. In fact, I would find it down right disgusting. :(:sick:

Did this happen to you?

Posted

It is without a doubt an insult. When I was separated from my H I was amazed at some of his "friends" who came out of the woodwork. I completely lost respect for them but what I could fathom was how THEY didn't know ME better than that. It seems though in retrospect that he was spreading the word that I filed because I wanted to "play the field". Geez if that was the reason then I'ld have just screwed around behind his back like he was doing!:D:D:D

You gotta wonder WHY they would try to score with their friend's wife??? I thought only women where motivated by that type of competition.

a compliment nor an insult...

I would tell him to take a hike... I would be mad at him... because IMO... we never touches what's our best friend's. NEVER!

GEEZ, I am completely dislexic today. I read husband's best friend.

My bestfriend's husband is one of the greatest guys I know, so THAT would never happen. I would not only take it as an insult but I would tell my BF in a heartbeat!

Yes, it has happened to me. On my BF's wedding day, in the limo while she and my boyfriend weren't there. I felt insulted and sad for my friend. I couldn't bear to tell her. We lost touch but I did learn she had divorced him.

But the question came to me as a result of a conversation with my closest cousin. She told me about this with such pride. I try to not be judgmental. I know she is a good person and to her, this is okay so long as she doesn't act on anything.

Yes - insecure, husband alcoholic ... yadda, yadda ...

Why do some women elevate themselves in a situation while others bring themselves down?

I have always been described as having an "unapproachable" look. I remember a close friend hemming and hawing while trying to break the news to me that this is how I came across. So only the real brave (or drunk as my husband's coworker did in front of him and the entire table) ever hit on me.

I got hit on the most while pregnant. I guess that softened my look. :)

As I've grown older I've honed the "don't even think about it" look. LOL! Not that they don't look, they just don't dare look twice! bawahahahahaha

Definite insult under any circumstances! Insulting to both you and your friend. Insulting to you if he thinks you would betry her like that. Of course, majorly insulting to her. And I would have told him off right then and there and then told her in as kind a way as possible.

Down right reprehensible and disgusting to do it on their wedding day. I am glad that she came to her senses and divorced him! You are right, telling her that day would have been terrible, you could not do that to her. Telling her down the road when they were having problems would have been good if you were still in contact.

Definately an insult. Not only to me, but to my bestfriend. How could it be a compliment? Yuk..

East, I have to admit that I have a thing for the Ice Queens. If a girl can shut most guys down with a look... I love it.

Im not sure why. I wouldnt characterize myself as bieng extremely brave, nor perpetually drunk.

To be honest I was so shocked and speechless. He tried to kiss me is what he did and I pulled back in repulsion. There was little time for saying anything as his new bride jumped into the limo soon after and I was never so glad to see her.

How do you tell your BF she has just married a slimebucket? I didn't know him before that day.

Definately an insult! What a disgusting pig! I hope she left him with nothing but mud to wallow in!

Insult, for sure. By hitting on his wife's best friend, he is implying that she seems like the type to slut around with married guys, and be a backstabbing bitch to her best friend in the process.

Okay, now that you've defined what "getting hit on" means, I would be insulted and vocal about it.

Some people define getting "hit on", as a simple smile or acknowledgement of someone else being attractive.

Well..You could take it as a compliment that he apparently finds you attractive, but a HUGE insult that he chose to treat his W this way...My guess is that he finds it more of a "challenge"...

It would be hard. I mean, what are you supposed to do, whisper it in her ear just as they're about to leave in the limo? He put YOU in a real crappy situation...Even if they had lasted, you never would have liked, let alone trust him.

I call that courtesy sometimes or kindness or friendly but gosh to think every guy who smiles at me ...?

By the way, nice g-string. ;)

Holy crap EOJ! I can't even imagine finding myself in that situation right before the wedding. However, I'm not sure there was anything you could have done, except what you did do. I think many, many women would react to such news under those circumstances first with shock, then extreme indignation- towards the woman, not the husband to be. They might realize later what a bottom-feeding maggot he was, but right before the big day? It may have been her first instinct to defend him in order to protect herself, which would have meant being very angry with you.

I would take it as a reason to try out my new kick boxing moves. I would love to take his balls off and shove them in his mouth. I don't have many friends, so it they are mistreated by any one I take it as an personal reason to kick some immoral booty.:D

HaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaYA!

Frankly I have wanted to kick more vaginas than balls in my life but that's just me.

How about your sister coming on to every guy you date?

How about coming home to your apartment and finding the guy you spent the night before with now in bed with your sister?

<there is a build up here I will spare you>

Packed all of my belongings in a large plastic bag and left the apartment. Next day went to the bank and cancelled all checks made out for my half of the rent and utis.

By the time I got to my parents home she had already called and told them she had kicked me out because I was bringing strange men over to the apartment and she didn't like that. @@

It may explain why whenever I get mad at her she step back about ten paces. I have kicked her rear on more than one ocassion. Only one of them involved the cops.

It's not intentional TC.

My life reads like a bad novel. I grew up in a tough place with tough people and had to be tough. That "look" was sheer determination as a child. Ever see that look on a five year old? I have pictures of me with that look at a very young age. And it was no act. I was tough.

I don't realize it anymore than my one aunt who is always pursing her lips. :lmao:
