supertouch Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 when i think of infatuation, i define it as always thinking about your partner and still getting butterflies when you see the person. is it possible to still get butterflies 10, 20, 30 years into a relationship? my longest relationship was 3 years and along with loving her i was always a little infatuated.
Hurt & Alone Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 I personally do not think so, however, there may be a few couples that have the ability to keep the relationship at the new stage. i dont know of any. My butterlies would usually die after a year. not saying after a year I wouldnt love the person, the butterflies are replaced with other emotions.
Touche Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 I don't know. It used to feel like I had a couple of big butterflies but now it feels more like a bunch of little moths...or maybe it's moth balls I feel.

alphamale Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 is it possible to still get butterflies 10, 20, 30 years into a relationship? hahahaha, my "infatuation" with a new women usually lasts a few months at best

Yep, I think you got that right, Tink..yes, gnats. That's it! And yes, even after almost 13 years together, I too feel the butterflies sometimes. But in my book, butterflies (or gnats as the case may be) aren't important. Feeling love (given and received) is more important to me than the butterflies...and that "lovin' feeling" is always with me...unlike the butterflies.
