Hey everyone i was just hoping for a bit of advice really..

How can you tell if a guy is just being friendly or if he wants something more than friendship? It has been driving me crazy for the past few days and i don't really know what to do.

A guy from my college randomly asked me out for coffee and as i had nothing better to do i went along. It was really good and we got on really well, he is the sort of person i feel instantly comfortable with but nothing more happened than a friendly chat. We met up twice in two days but then i went on holiday. When i got back we met up again and had a great time but still nothing more than a hug goodbye. Am i just being slutty by wanting something more on the 3rd date? I'm not asking for much, just a kiss on the cheek or anything to separate me from his female friends. He always suggests meeting up, texts me, he even made me a card and bought me a present for my birthday even though we haven't known each other for that long. I really like him as you might have guessed but i don't know how he sees me.

Do you think he just wants to be friends? It isn't like he is too shy to do anything because he is fairly confident. What do you reckon are the key signs that a guy wants to be more than friends? I need all the help i can get figuring this one out.

Thank you! I know i am probably making a big deal out of nothing.

i've been in this situation before and know how frustrating it is. i would say he's definitely interested but shy and taking it slow. one thing i've learned to do is expedite the process by giving him an easy way to make a move. for example, with the current guy i'm dating at the beginning i was getting impatient waiting for him to make a move. he has a car and i suggested we 'take a ride' one night. we went to a park and walked around. afterward, he said he could drive me back but i suggested we listen to some music in his car instead. then he finally made a move. so if you're interested in this guy, try to put the two of you in a situation where it would be natural for him to kiss you. this will show clear interest on your part and make things easier for him.

I would have to concur with shadowplay. He is interested. He's doing all the same things I do when I'm interested in a girl!

Do make things easier for him, self-confident he may be, but all of us guys get shy around the ladies!

Part of your reaction could be BECAUSE this guy is being a gentleman. In college, we rarely see this breed. Enjoy his slow approach, while you have it. Allow yourself to be pursued: it is a great feeling that all women deserve. Lust is NUTS and promotes serial relationships, however, time allows rationalization. You can actually spend moments together that make you think wow I adore his personality and do want to form a relationship with him.

Enjoy.

thank you..

it's good to think i am not the only one getting stressed over things like this.

i think it could be because i am used to guys thinking of nothing but sex that when an actual nice guy comes along i think there is something wrong with him!

we are going out again tonight as i have just got back from holiday so fingers crossed..

thanks again!
