Whether your soda has sugar or a low calorie sugar substitute, your health is just as much at risk.

What about diet soda that has aspartame as the sugar substitute?

That might make it the elixir for longevity, don't you think?

That's a strange article. It shows similar results between two products but researchers don't know why the results are similar. Without any real knowledge, how can they allocate responsibility to the product itself, especially when it might just be lifestyle choices causing the problems.

I drink soda maybe once every six months to a year, so it won't impact on me either way.

That's just it, they can't - they admitted they don't really know and only have theories, such as soda drinkers might have bad eating habits whether they drink diet or regular soda.

It's like saying, hey, we did a study and people who eat asparagus every week live longer than people who don't. Whoopdedoo. Maybe those people who eat asparagus every week eat healthier every day. Doesn't mean if you eat brugers and fries every day and add asparagus to one meal, you'll live longer.

I guess everyone should quit drinking diet sodas and continue eating fast food with a sedentary lifestyle to see if this makes a difference, although genetic disposition to heart disease can also factor heavily into health risk.

It's not easy being fat. It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things. And people tend to pass you over because you're not standing out like flashy sparkles in the water, or stars in the sky.
