Fellas, do taller women intimidate you? I recently heard this guy say that about tall women. Im very curious, so do they? Give me your input on this situation.

Not at all. Thats silly to be intimidated by height.

Unfortunately women taller then me have turned me down due to the fact of them being taller than me..

They don't intimidate me and I'm 5'6", but maybe that's because I'm just used to being shorter than people. :D My tallest gf was 5'10". Actually, I think guys that are around 5'9" are going to be more concerned with a girl being taller than them than a guy who is 5'6" but that will, of course, vary from person to person.

Now why do you think that a 5'9" guy would be more concerned?

Just because it seems like they are more often than dudes my size from what I've seen/heard. If you're 5'9" you're not really short and you're not really tall. It's not uncommon to be taller than people or shorter than others. But if you're 5'6", you're the short kid in class, get all the short jokes and develop a thick skin for them long before adulthood, and are just used to being shorter than people in general so it's not as much an issue. I don't know, that's just a theory. Just the way I see it. I'm certainly not saying that all 5'9" guys have a problem with taller women or that no 5'6" guy does.

If a 5'9" guy refuses to date taller women he'll probably still have a decent pool to choose from. If a 5'6" guy refuses to date taller women he's just shooting himself in the foot. :D

I'm not accusing you of generalizing so its all good.

I actually grew an inch taller in the past year believe it or not and I am 5'9", but I still feel like the short guy.

Things that never have been an influence on what I find attractive:

-hair color

-eye color

-height

-chest size

I am 5'9 and I tend to go for around the same height or a little shorter. I notice a lot of guys do not want to date someone taller than them and a lot of girls don't want to date a guy shorter than them. I think its stupid, especially for people who are on the more extreme ends of the spectrum since that rules out half of the dating pool.

This story deals somewhat with the topic at hand.

A few years ago a bunch of us were out at the bar sitting at a table. Some dance song comes on and this girl runs by the table, grabs my arm in the process and says "come on we are going to go dance". She was very cute, so I had no objections. We get out to the dancefloor and then she notices that I am shorter then her and that she towers over me. She immediately stopped dancing and made some excuse and walked away. I just laughed about it and went back to the table.
