julia pearson Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 My girl leaves me in less than two weeks. She's the baby I fought the most with. I'm going to miss her terribly but she's heading into an amazing adventure. We're having a party for her tonight with all her "nearest and dearest" friends. Anyone have coping techniques to get through this time? I'm regretting the time wasted arguing with her. She's been very hard on me lately. We're both hot heads I guess. If this post sounds whiny I don't mean it to be. I'm just bracing myself for how it will feel when her plane takes off! Lizzie, you know what I'm talking about my friend. Thanks
Lizzie60 Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 my daughter has travelled around the world but the longest she was gone was 6 months, twice... It is hard but you know that's what they want and it is the best experience they can get. She'll be back, plus with the magic of the Internet it makes everything so easier, get a webcam and get one for her... LOL
Author julia pearson Posted July 18, 2007 Author Posted July 18, 2007 That's a great idea Lizzie! Do you have a webcam? I'd love to smile at you sometime... No seriously, we'll email, webcam, skype...and....and...we'll have her home for the holidays and (drumroll) I'm planning on flying over to visit her all alone some time. Wanna meet me there?
Lizzie60 Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I wish... No I don't have a webcam anymore... I gave it away a few years ago. LOL
quankanne Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 write her a heartfelt letter about how even though you may seem to always clash, she is the love of your life and you wish her the best. Then tell her to hold off on reading it until she's feeling blue or needs her mama the most. … I've kept some of the letters my mother wrote me when I was away in college, as well as the one she sent on my 25th birthday, and from time to time I pull them out to read when missing her becomes too great. Because the love she wrote with then has definitely out-lived her.
Author julia pearson Posted July 18, 2007 Author Posted July 18, 2007 What an absolutely beautiful idea! I will do this and I will tell her not to open it until she needs me. Thank you
