Well, today is my bill day and wow i just realized how expensive being single is.

Alot of eating out with friends, cocktails on the weekends, short trips here and there.

The more i do the more it keeps my mind off of things. I guess its worth it. Now do not go and think im a cheap A**. Just an observation. You know, something a little lighter to post about.

Anyone else find this to be true??

I paid all that even when she lived with me. I guess i should have said being single just became more expensive;).

There are those days where i think "God this is great".

Depending on the situation, I'd think dating could be more expensive. For example, if you go the traditional route and the man pays for dates or whatever, i'd think the man would be better off single lol.

I know my life gets more expensive when single, because I do tend to go out more, and obviously am paying my own way.

I guess maybe when you're in a couple you might end up going out less because you can stay in and have else things for amusement? ;-)

like what? screaming and yelling at each other? i only classify that as entertainment on certain occassions.

I was definatly not cheap with her but it was almost like we were married. Going out was 50/50 sometimes i paid sometimes she paid. She insisted almost every time.

After 3 years incisting on paying her own way she threw it in my face post break up. I would have given her my last dime and the shirt off my back. She always knew this.

Oh,baseball games are expensive. Maybe i should cut back. Let's see, go home alone to my empty house or go to a game with my buddies? Hmmmm.

Well then thats a good thing that she is your ex.

In all those expenses you also have to include her birthday, Christmas, anniversary, and in some cases Valentines and sweetest days.

I went to two Tiger games last week, and my checking account is still recovering.:o

Will see,

my new roomate is from Michigan. I have never seen so many new era Detriot hats in my life. Could be interesting. We are trying to suck up to a couple of friends with season tickets.

Its funny. They have one good year and all of a sudden these "fans" come out of no where claiming to have supported them throughout the years. Forgive me for going off-topic but I have a sour spot for fair weather fans.

Yeah, I remember going to Angel games when no one gave a SH**. Now getting a ticket requires an act of congress.

My roomate is a pretty hardcore fan,or so it seems.

I always do see some Tiger hats in the crowd when an Anaheim game against Detroit is being televised.

Dude,

More than you know.

I can accept it though.

Don't forget your income tax rates are higher for the singles too..

Being single can also be cheaper in some things.. like the electric bill.. if only one person is home then the power bill is cheaper..

It use to be cheap going to a ball game. you could get tickets to the nose bleed section and a hot dog and beer or two . It wasnt real big deal, Now I don't think it is worth it. The cost is just way to high. How does someone afford taking a couple of kids to a game now?

if you want to have some fun try going to a minor league game. It is base ball that puts the fun back into being a spectator.

If you area hard core team fan it might not be the same. but if you are a fan of the game then There is nothing more satisfying as watching a minor league game.

also take a game in at a sports bar, it's a good place to meet woman as well as catch the game.

I'm not sure what happy hours are like in Calif. They were great. i could have a nice dinner and a drink or two, socialize and still get out without breaking the bank.

For me, being in a relationship costs WAY more. When I was single, guys always paid to take me out; most money went to appearance-enhancing things, clothes, shoes, makeup--or in the bank! I never paid for anything other than my rent and utilities and meals that weren't furnished by would-be suitors.

Now that I'm in a relationship, I pick up the check every now and then, and when I cook I buy groceries. Since we don't see each other a lot, when we do, I try to make nice meals, like I bought the groceries for a BBQ for eight last weekend because he'd taken me to an expensive dinner the weekend before. Gas from driving up and down to see him as well. And for his birthday, I took him to SF and paid the airfare, hotel, a nice dinner, and transportation. I would not be doing anything that lavish with single friends, for the most part. If we take any trips, they are usually somewhat budget-style and of course you're only paying for yourself.

Hands down, being single for me was way cheaper. I guess because it was like thinly veiled prostitution. :D

I remember going to minor league games in Texas when i was a kid, man those were some good times.

There are some good happy hours around and yes i have gone. Even met a couple ladies. Problem is happy hour ends but we dont leave:p.

Sounds familiar without the prostitution part:lmao:. My ex and I went all out on vacations we figured we would deal with the money thing when we got home. Yeah, my friends are pretty cheap.

For us it went both ways she would surprise me with some pretty cool stuff as i would do the same. I used to love making her smile. Some of my best memories involve just hanging out with her. Maybe a movie, people watching, taking a drive. Those things bring a smile to my face

Since we were never married I never got a chance to enjoy the tax break. But then now i would be posting about a divorce and not just a break up.

Lesser of two evils i guess.
