I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter. I just recently had another. I started back to work 2 weeks ago. And she has go to baby sitters 2 a week. She goes to the same lady now for a year and has never had aproblem with going. Now she cries says I dont want to go, I want to stay with you. I think it has something to do with the new baby comes to work with me. She hasnt said that, she wont tell me no reason why. the sitter says she is fine when I leave. I just want to know what to do so she doesnt seem so stressed.

she's the right age for experiencing separation anxiety. At two, she does her best to assert her independence, but on HER terms ... any change in her little world, even something like you going back to work, is a collosal thing, you know?

I imagine that once you get into the rhythm of taking her to the sitter's (about one or two weeks), she'll be fine, because in her limited experience, that'll be all she's ever known.

if her sitter says she settles down after you leave, that's a good sign – it's only when she becomes inconsolable after you leave that you've got a real problem. Hopefully, she and the sitter will be back to making fun memories and she can't wait to get over there to see her ...

hope this clears up the issue!
