yongyong Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 a lot of dentist advertise about free whitening if I do cleaning with new patient check. I called one place and they said it will cost about $280 for cleaning, x rays and exam plus I will get laser whitening free. I think it's still a very good deal.......... has anyone tried this offer? is there something hidden cost?????/
Fun2BMe Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Most dentists offer free cleaning and x-rays for new patients, or else at a low price like $39. If you have dental insurance, cleaning is covered twice a year and x-rays once a year or once every two years depending on the plan. So basically you are being charged $280 for the whitening - a procedure insurance doesn't cover which is why they're offering it at a fee lumping it together with items covered by insurance. I'd determine whether it's a good deal depending on a comparison made to what other dentists in your area charge for similar procedures.
