Cioriel Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 I'm not sure what to do about my ex's birthday. He broke up w/ me but has wanted to remain friends. We work together and have had lunch together a bit, as well as have walked to and from work together. Overall we get along really great. I still have some feelings and hope that we can get back together someday, but understand that he just wants friendship. I'm not sure whether to get him a card or a small present, or just message him briefly basically saying "happy birthday, hope you're having a good one." I wished him a happy birthday when he left work today, so I just wasn't sure how else I should hande this. Any input is appreciated.
codergrrl Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 You said it and that is enough. You are sending the wrong message to yourself and him if you take the time to pick out a card or a present. I've been there and it is just thrown back in your face as if you have crossed a boundary.
Aliddy Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Hi there, well what would I do mmmmmmm It was my ex's birthday last week, and I didn't even acknowledge it, but that is because he has been a complete s**t !!!! However, if we had broken up, and were still in contact, with the possibility of maybe getting back together, then I would definately send him a card. Mainly because, if you dont, that is saying you dont really care. I would be careful of the card I sent, to ensure I did not send the wrong message. So in answer to your question, I would send a card..........
funkybassplayer Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 You said happy birthday, nothing more needs to be said.
nylah Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 You said happy birthday, nothing more needs to be said. Please remember that he broke up with you....let him miss the good thing that he let go....don't get him anything....I know it sucks, but it is what it is.....
