spookie Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 When the earth was still flat, And the clouds made of fire, And mountains stretched up to the sky, Sometimes higher, Folks roamed the earth Like big rolling kegs. They had two sets of arms. They had two sets of legs. They had two faces peering Out of one giant head So they could watch all around them As they talked; while they read. And they never knew nothing of love. It was before the origin of love. The origin of love And there were three sexes then, One that looked like two men Glued up back to back, Called the children of the sun. And similar in shape and girth Were the children of the earth. They looked like two girls Rolled up in one. And the children of the moon Were like a fork shoved on a spoon. They were part sun, part earth Part daughter, part son. The origin of love Now the gods grew quite scared Of our strength and defiance And Thor said, "I'm gonna kill them all With my hammer, Like I killed the giants." And Zeus said, "No, You better let me Use my lightening, like scissors, Like I cut the legs off the whales And dinosaurs into lizards." Then he grabbed up some bolts And he let out a laugh, Said, "I'll split them right down the middle. Gonna cut them right up in half." And then storm clouds gathered above Into great balls of fire And then fire shot down From the sky in bolts Like shining blades Of a knife. And it ripped Right through the flesh Of the children of the sun And the moon And the earth. And some Indian god Sewed the wound up into a hole, Pulled it round to our belly To remind us of the price we pay. And Osiris and the gods of the Nile Gathered up a big storm To blow a hurricane, To scatter us away, In a flood of wind and rain, And a sea of tidal waves, To wash us all away, And if we don't behave They'll cut us down again And we'll be hopping round on one foot And looking through one eye. Last time I saw you We had just split in two. You were looking at me. I was looking at you. You had a way so familiar, But I could not recognize, Cause you had blood on your face; I had blood in my eyes. But I could swear by your expression That the pain down in your soul Was the same as the one down in mine. That's the pain, Cuts a straight line Down through the heart; We called it love. So we wrapped our arms around each other, Trying to shove ourselves back together. We were making love, Making love. It was a cold dark evening, Such a long time ago, When by the mighty hand of Jove, It was the sad story How we became Lonely two-legged creatures, It's the story of The origin of love. That's the origin of love.
burning 4 revenge Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 That doesn't describe love at all but it's very imaginative. Love (romantic love) is essentially selfish and not so sentimental in reality
Trialbyfire Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 You can't have love without angst... So Cruel We crossed the line Who pushed who over? It doesn’t matter to you It matters to me We’re cut adrift But still floating I’m only hanging on To watch you go down...my love I disappeared in you You disappeared from me I gave you everything you ever wanted It wasn’t what you wanted The men who love you, you hate the most They pass through you like a ghost They look for you but your spirit is in the air Baby...you’re nowhere You say in love there are no rules Sweetheart You’re so cruel Desperation is a tender trap It gets you every time You put your lips to her lips To stop the lie Her skin is pale like god’s only dove Screams like an angel for your love Then she makes you watch her from above And you need her like a drug You say in love there are no rules Sweetheart You’re so cruel She wears my love Like a see-through dress Her lips say one thing Her movements something else Oh love Like a screaming flower Love Dying every hour And you don’t know if it’s fear or desire Danger of a drug that takes you higher? Head of heaven Fingers in the mire Her heart is racing... you can’t keep up The night is bleeding like a cut Between the horses of love and lust In a trampled underfoot You say in love there are no rules Sweetheart You’re so cruel To stay with you I’d be a fool Sweetheart You’re so cruel.
lonelybird Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Close your heart to every love but mine; hold no one in your arms but me. Love is as powerful as death; passion is as strong as death itself. It bursts into flame and burns like a raging fire. Water cannot put it out; no flood can drown it. But if any tried to buy love with their wealth, contempt is all they would get.
burning 4 revenge Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 roses are red violets are blue i'd prefer someone else but you're the best i can do
lonelybird Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 solomon, solomon, solomon you sing beautiful songs you have beautiful women one is better than another don't settle
roxy_1980 Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 "When you were young" by The Killers best describes the relationship that I am in now. You sit there in your heartache, Waiting on some beautiful boy, To, to save you from your old ways. You play forgiveness, Watch it now, Here he come. He doesn't look a thing like Jesus, But he talks like a gentleman. Like you imagine, When you were young. When I met him, I had just been badly burned by another. Basically swearing off men. The first guy that was willing to wait through all of my $h!t. He treated me like a lady. Now exactly the type of guy that I expected to be my salvation by that's how it worked out.

If I were a dreamer soul (see soul thread), I would vote for that, but unfortunately I'm not. Here's my vote (the lyrics seem off on a lot of sites): Love Is a Losing Game Amy Winehouse For you I was a flame, Love is a losing game Five story fire as you came, Love is losing game One I wish I never played, Oh, what a mess we made And now the final frame, Love is a losing game Played out by the band, Love is a losing hand More than I could stand, Love is a losing hand Self professed profound Til' the chips were down Know you’re a gambling man Love is a losing hand Tho' I battled blind, Love is a fate resigned Memories mar my mind, Love it is a fate resigned Over futile odds, And laughed at by the Gods And now the final frame, Love is a losing game
doiask42much Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Ok, here's my "joke" answer: I Heard Love Is Blind I couldn't resist him His eyes were like yours His hair was exactly the shade of brown He's just not as tall, but I couldn't tell It was dark and I was lying down You are everything - he means nothing to me I can't even remember his name Why're you so upset? Baby, you weren't there and I was thinking of you when I came What do you expect? You left me here alone; I drank so much and needed to touch Don't overreact - I pretended he was you You wouldn't want me to be lonely How can I put it so you understand? I didn't let him hold my hand But he looked like you; I guess he looked like you No he wasn't you But you can still trust me, this ain't infidelity It's not cheating; you were on my mind Yes he looked like you But I heard love is blind...
nylah Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 That doesn't describe love at all but it's very imaginative. Love (romantic love) is essentially selfish and not so sentimental in reality How able the lyric: I don't see nothin wrong with a little bump and grind.....does that describe the love you're talking about??? You're so funny....
