Ok here is brief info on my sit. Married for almost 10 years then divorced from 1st hubby about 12 years, no steady contact from either side in years & we're both remarried. I have spoken to his sister over the years in passing. Before the divorce she and I were really close. And just resently I ran into her again and she invited me along with my husband or anyone I would like to bring to her party. My ex hubby WILL NOT be there because they haven't been on speaking terms for at least a year, and no one from the rest of her family is supposed to go either. When I ran into my ex sister in-law she was with a friend of hers and she introduced me, naturally as the ex wife. Her friend didn't say much. I told her I didn't think that would be right and would be kind of weird. They both still insisted I come and to give her a call, stated she is still in the book, and she is-I looked, if I decide to come. She even told me the rain date. Was she just being nice or should I go?

If you would like to go - then of course you should. There is no reason inviting you was just her being nice - she had no reason to tell you of the event at all.

I'd assume she is interested in being friends again, now that the emotional highs and lows are long past. So if you would like to be friends again - then hey why not?

I do and don't want to go. Kinda confusing. I want to go because I am curious. And I don't want to go because my present husband, that I have been married to for almost 8 years, can't go because he has to work that night. So that means I would have to go ALONE. Who likes to show up to things like this alone. I haven't said anything to my husband about it because he has to work anyways and I think he might get upset at the thought I was hangin out with my ex's sister. But it's ok for my present husbands mother to hang out with his ex wife-that's a whole other story.

I did brake down and ask my mother what she thought. She said not to go because it would only cause trouble if someone from her family did show up. YIKES!!! WHAT TO DO????
