littlepiggy1 Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Just wondering what you look for in an online profile (in terms of generality). Also, what do you look for in a profile pic? Indoors, outdoors, smile, serious, etc?
McFadden Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Just wondering what you look for in an online profile (in terms of generality). Also, what do you look for in a profile pic? Indoors, outdoors, smile, serious, etc? Looks like someone I am attracted to in thier pictures, has interests listed that have something in common with mine..I know that doesn't help with anything specific but just be yourself and don't try to be fake or posed online, and the people who are attracted to you will like it. That being said don't go on and on about yourself and how cool you are and post cheesey pictures of you with no shirt in front of your car, especially if you don't have the body for it.
Author littlepiggy1 Posted July 2, 2007 Author Posted July 2, 2007 Oh no, I'm not about to do anything quite so lame, at least with the photo. But I do practice photography, so I'm debating what I should do. I can either do the stock point-and-shoot/webcam style pic, or go for something a little different and more professional/artsy.
knaveman Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 have a female friend help you out, that is how I got that wonderful pic on my profile. The beer is optional.
JeanQueen Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Do not put pics of yourself with other girls cut out, but just enough left so we can see that their was another girl there. I see this so much and it just makes me wonder why they couldn't have posted a solo pic or one that was cut better. Also, make an effort to put what your ideal match would be like on there. Don't just say "I'm not picky" or answer "any" to all the questions about your match. I like to know if I fit into what your looking for. If you are too open to anything then I don't get a sense of what you like and then just tend to skip over the profile. And, make an effort to contact the girls you like. Don't just throw your profile on there and expect girls to contact you. A lot of them are shy and wait for you to make the first move. Be confident and suggest a face to face meeting soon after meeting online. Good luck!
McFadden Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 I think the artsy type pic would be good for you because it says something about you and what you do instead of a webcam pic like everyone else. Good luck.
MWC_LifeBeginsAt40 Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Pictures that show you in a non-posed, relaxed situation, like outside on a patio or doing something you enjoy. Not just a head shot, but not so much background that we can't see what you look like. Don't wear sunglasses, but I'm sure you know that. DO NOT put the headline "you might be the one I'm looking for" I see that way too often.
Author littlepiggy1 Posted July 2, 2007 Author Posted July 2, 2007 DO NOT put the headline "you might be the one I'm looking for" I see that way too often. Nope. My tagline currently reads, "now with more cowbell!" At least, until I can come up with something better.
