Teacher's Pet Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 Today marks one YEAR of NC for me. What a year it's been, too! I've had job/financial ups and downs.... I've had romantic ups and downs.... I've lost a beloved pet.... I rediscovered my true calling in life.... But most of all, in these last five-hundred twenty-five thousand, six-hundred minutes, I think I've finally figured out what Jonathon Larsen was talking about all along. You truly DO measure your life in love. When I was curled in a ball on my bed, crying my eyes out as my ex was yelling at me on the phone, telling me how awful I was, making me feel like I wasted so much of myself on a relationship that was completely one-sided, little did I know that I wasn't losing love, I was FINDING it. That same afternoon I met the first of the people who would change my life for the better. Truly, a new door in my life opened, when one was slammed in my face. Over the next couple of months, I began so many new WONDERFUL friendships that slowly but surely made the loss of a semi-romantic sexual relationship (ok, ok, we were engaged...) less important. The people who came into my life not only "replaced" the one coming out of it, but also helped to repair the damage left behind. I can't even begin to list some of the crazy things I've seen and witnessed in the last year thanks to my new "family", let alone some of the dating "adventures" I've had as well! The truly great part of all this is that it only took minutes from the phone being slammed down on me for all of this to begin. Sometimes, I really wonder if I can ever say I've been "lonely", even with the lack of a romantic/sexual partner. Being on LS has given me an entire website full of therapists, shoulders to cry on, willing ears, and most importantly, understanding. Of course, there are a few people here in particular who have been simply INCREDIBLE to me, but I think they know who they are, especially the other two parts of my favorite LS "threesome" So, for a few brief moments, my life truly felt empty, but now, looking back, as I measure my life in love (again, to quote Jonathon Larsen), I'm probably the luckiest guy in the world. Now, after I wipe away these really un-manly tears of mine, I'm going to go hug my cats and tell them I love them. This truly has been my "Season Of Love". -tp now, will someone PLEASE let me stick it in them already?
Star Gazer Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 Ah..."Seasons of Love"... Five-hundred twenty-five thousand six-hundred minutes... Five-hundred twenty-five thousand moments so dear... Five-hundred twenty-five thousand six-hundred minutes... How do you measure, measure a year??
Author Teacher's Pet Posted June 25, 2007 Author Posted June 25, 2007 Don't get me started. allina Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Men quoting RENT is soooooooo gay I'm glad you've come such a long way tp (someone please make TP out of this poor man) I hope you stay on LS and include us in the adventures to come Much :love::love::love: to you
AriaIncognito Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Are you sure Lee's has rent songs? I was debating if I should buy a karaoke disc. I don't think they are sing sing like Ricks...I want to sing Take me or leave me again, i felt happy singing that song. I dont know why. I dont know if it just made me feel confident or what but i wanna do it again lol. As for your post, it was very nice, and well, those people you weren't naming, are happy to have helped.
Author Teacher's Pet Posted June 26, 2007 Author Posted June 26, 2007 Lee's has crappy songs, and the DJ will definately not let me bring a disc with.... you know what song.. LOL..... But dammit, I love the food there. Kinda fitting to celebrate my birthday with all my favorite people at the place I met my ex at. LOL And Allina, my darling..... I'm allowed to quote RENT without being considered gay. As an actor, and a former musical theatre person, I'm allowed to like that stuff, while at the same time not partaking in the man-gina. To be honest, I don't like most showtunes, except from RENT, and some of the more "classic" musicals. The only current musical I'd really like to see is Avenue Q. I've heard some of the soundtrack, and it's quite entertaining. -tp the internet is for porn.
