I've never done anything cruel to an ex.

I haven't either. The worst I've done is given them a stern piece of my mind.

I don't think what I did to an ex was cruel, I just wanted her to leave me alone.

When I was in college, I caught an ex in bed with another guy. Next day I came over to get my things from her apt, and she did the usual crying an begging crap that she didn't want to lose me. This was a high school sweetheart that I had been with for 5 years. We planned on getting married and everything.

But all that didn't faze me. No way was I going to stay with her after seeing what I saw.

Anyway, fast forward to 3 years later. She is newly married to someone else, I was newly married. And for some reason she decides to write me a letter and tell me how sorry she was and wishes things were different.

So I knew her address and her husband's name, so I put her letter in an envelope addressed to him and put a post it note in there simply saying, "Tell your wife to leave me the hell alone" (something to that effect...its been a long time).

I never heard from her again, and can only imagine the dinner conversation they had that evening.

I find what you did really stupid

No, cheating is stupid. But I already gather you don't think so.

... Unless you tell him what you did...what's the thrill .... if he never finds out... LOL

Thats the beauty of it, he doesn't know that he had shi!t in his mouth.

I find those little 'mean' games very juvenile....

more juvenile than sleeping with several married men?

The only intentionally cruel thing I did to my ex was delete his myspace account, myspace was his life, he was literally addicted and had admitted to using myspace to cheat on me. I was pissed, he had given me the passwords to his account and his email at one point, so I deleted it. I still don't know if he figured out that it was me.

SUCCESS is the best revenge.

I totally agree, my ex showed up at my work the other day, I ended up talking to him and trying to get him to leave. He asked how I was doing and what I was up to, so I told him how happy I am and how I have accomplished a few things that I have always wanted to. When I asked him what he was up to he didn't have much to say and left.

So for those of you that have done cruel things to get back at an ex, or for whatever reason, why did you do it?

The way I see it is trying to get "revenge" just makes you look petty, childish and a little pathetic. I know that I'd prefer to walk away poised and proud, not act out like a kid whose feelings are hurt.

I would say some ppl do it for closure. Then some ppl do it to teach them a lesson of what goes around comes around. Yes, I know it's not that person's job to teach someone else a lesson, but some just need the satisfaction. Childish yes, but we all still have a little childisness in us, and those that don't must have never lived like a child when they were one.

'Cause that's how Tanny rolls.

Yes but I prefer to act like a child by cartoons or playing with play doh, to each their own I guess. I just think that the person doing the cruel thing to an ex just hurts themself in the end.

Why? I'd have much more respect for a man that didn't act like that. No desore to be the bigger person?

It was mainly because I made time to be around so she could get her stuff and then she never showed without even calling to arranging another time. And then not even calling me back when I took it upon myself to call her to see what was up. It was the disrespect of the flaking plus the extra disrespect of just assuming she could use my place as a storage facility without even contacting me. That and flakiness has always been a big pet peeve of mine.

I agree it was petty and childish but at that point I honestly had no desire to be the bigger person. I already felt like there was a lot of disrespect on her part during the course of the relationship so it was a combination of venting frustration plus committing an act that would demonstrate I have no tolerance for that kind of treatment (not just that incident of flakiness but the prior issues we had over the course of the relationship). It was well within her power to retain her stuff, she just chose not to.

Not my most noble moment, but f**k it. :D

I do see your point allina. And you are also right "to each his own." Sometimes though being the "bigger person" brings no satisfaction. I had always been the bigger person, with the exception of that case. I don't know something about cheating on me, and risking giving me an STD or worse just make me snap, just a little. ;) To Each His/Her Own :)

I've had many cruel fantasies but never acted upon any of them once my initial rage died down. Not because I'm not petty, cuz I am, but I'm far too lazy to orchestrate anything, really. I've said many things out of hurt/anger that were pretty lame though, really below the belt. My bark is definitely worse than my bite. Learning to watch my words better though.

Tan, I woulda done the same. If the opportunity presents itself, why not? I saw your act as more one of convenience for yourself than actual cruelty. It's people who plot and scheme that I don't get. Who has the time or energy?

You know when your ex or boyfriend/girlfriend do something so wrong that you just have to find some sort of revenge. I want to hear what you guys have done to get back at them. Me, I took my ex tooth brush and made sure i scrubbed the inside of the toilet really good. He cheated on me while he was living with me so I figured if he was going to kiss another girl he could do it with his potty mouth. Pun intended. lol:D:laugh: Anyone else have some stories?

How about taking a chicken band and putting that thru the locker latch, closing it, and then spraying perfume up in the locker vents?:laugh:

Is this a practical joke? I don't understand

And Tan, had someone done that to me they would be replacing every item of mine that was thrown away.

What's not to understand? You tie his locker shut so he can't get in there for class. And what's classic is when you see him pissed and looking for cutters.:laugh:

I do have more but there weren't done by me.

allina, you may want to walk a mile in other peoples' shoes before you begin to understand it a little better.

Not if that someone were me. :D I'd be like.. *puts palm in allina's face*

But I'm sure you wouldn't be that inconsiderate. :)

Why? And I do understand what it's like to be hurt or to have someone do wrong by you. What do you think I don't understand?

Anyways...just got off the phone with the ex-hubby. The first time he's called after he signed on the dotted line.

Poor baby was so miserable so I let him know how happy I was. As I've told him before, honesty is the best policy...

Nah I wouldn't be, I hate flakes as well, and i don't disagree that she was rude.

But if anyone puts their palm in my face it's on!

Oh there the same as plastic ties. The ones that you pull and the only way to get them undone is to cut them.
