I have also heard it's advised not to tell anyone (besides your H/child's father) until after the 12th week b/c miscarriage are more likely to happen in the first trimester. I told my family and friends as soon as I took the home pregnancy test. I believe it's the mother's choice whether she wants to tell or not. It's not like the pregnancy police are going to arrest you for telling your pg b4 the first 12 weeks.

As Mopar said, the recommendation to wait until the 2nd trimester (12 weeks) is based on additional information given to the pregnant woman, that the chances of miscarriage are statistically higher in the 1st trimester...thus, some women may wish to wait until the 'safer' time, after 12 weeks, to announce the pregnancy. It has NOTHING to do with reasons of etiquette! And women are encouraged to tell people whenever they want, be it straight after the pregnancy test or week 12 or some other time-whatever feels good to them! It's just about offering as much info as possible to the pregnant woman, really. For example if the woman did (in the worst case scenario) miscarry during the 1st trimester when it is statistically more likely, it may make things harder at such a personal, difficult time, to have to tell everyone they are not pregnant anymore, to avoid all those future 'congratulations' and 'how is the baby doing' remarks that make the grieving process so much harder.

OK - You're all wrong!

Ever since I was a boy we ALL knew about a 3 month rule.

SO then let's see ... hmmmm .... 4 weeks/month times 3 months ... hmmm

OK - 12 weeks - sorry :)

Just the same though, everyone I've known blew the rule anyway.

Daughter tells mom early, of course ... swears mom to secrecy ha hah ha :)

Anyway everyone tried but couldn't keep a lid on it.

So you're all correct ...

Even the one that insinuated somethings wrong in England (especially that one) :)

But then it was a brit that mentioned 12 weeks to begin with ... so she's right too.

OK - then you're all correct!

Except Little Lady, who should have kept a lid on it for ever!

Greg, please kindly stop hijacking my thread you little poo poo. You're asking for a karate chop!

As for my situation, I told "IS" and he is so happy. He is finally having the child his wife couldn't give him. He told me to give him six weeks and he will get things together to break it off with the old lady. I'm happy, but I was quite ready to raise this child on my own of course with his financial aid. I don't think money is really in question here. He is very wealthy.

We are very much in love and I think his wife gaining weight and looking about 10 years her senior along with her exceedingly arrogant persona as well as being "damaged goods" for not being able to even give her husband a baby, all of that added up and he decided he no longer cares for her.

I'm pretty much the perfect woman overall; he knows that and I know that. He is very lucky and so am I. We will make a beautiful family together. Thanks for your support if there is any one out there who gave any!!! LOL

We give when it's due.

As for her being "damage goods," not everyone in this world has the ability to have children. And some of those who can, probably shouldn't.

You said he needs six weeks, I bet it takes longer if it happends at all.

Not gonna happen!

And LL, you talk about the wife being arrogant? Kind of funny coming from you. I've never heard a woman say the were the "perfect woman" unless they were extremely arrogant themselves.

That's absolutely awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are like the most extreme example of a dirty mistress that other people joke about. Well congratulations, you have won yourself 1st prize - a MM who dumps his wife because she couldn't have children. You must be very proud of yourself. Just something that I think needs to be pointed out to you though. If she is such damaged goods, why did he marry her in the first place???? I mean, if he is the prize that you are claiming, he probably could have gotten any woman. Why would he settle for damaged goods? Hmmm, from damaged goods to a gold-digger....

To a real man, something you obviously have no conception (pardon the pun) of, you are anything but perfect. You're a nightmare -- a self-absorbed, licentious, greedy, grasping, heartless blob of protoplasm that may or may not be packaged nicely. Even if you are it's all window-dressing and no substance so in time, the real you oozes out and flows back into the mire from which you were spawned.

I now yield myself to the Admin Gods to do whatever they will! It needed to be said clearly and unambiguously.

That means, "definitively" for you, Little Anything but a Lady!

Whoo Boy! Hope I never get on YOUR bad side, Curm!

Couldn't agree more though. No support here either. I give support where it's warranted. Nothing here merits my support..only my disgust and pity.

LOL @ the edit job on my post.

Keep it coming admirers!

We are already practically living together at his bungalow and let him go to his wife when he has to make appearances. His wife I think already suspects.. only time before the sh*t hits the fan and I cannot wait until she sees what is growing inside my fit and tan tummy. I pop right into shape after pregnancy... not a stretch mark. I'm perfect.. keep the envy coming. The wife is a blob of a mess and she's never even had a child. Poor thing can't isn't even capable of having a baby.

I had to share this recent event with someone!

Now it's time to discern the opportune time to tell the MM and/or his wife.

He has been trying to get his battered wife pregnant for years, but apparently he told me she had a scarred uterus from too many abortions resulting from lots of promiscuity in the past.... lol! What a tramp.

Anyways, I'm trying to decide exactly how to work this out in my favor. MM says he loves me and is sick of the old ball and chain, so I'm figuring this will be excellent and splendid news for the both of us. Wish me luck!

Can't wait til this battleax confronts me on this matter. I'm elated right now! YES!!!! My child will now have a sibling and the new baby will likely be adorable as hell considering the parents involved. His father is hot, handsome, sweet, and rich. Yesterday after work, "italian stallion" gave me a gift.. so beautiful and so expensive I'm sure. I'll be going to the jewelers to get it appraised, but of course I would never sell. I love him!

Can anyone recommend a good therapist for this poster?

I feel for the baby.

Perhaps physically, but you're horribly and perhaps irrepairably flawed mentally and emotionally.

I'd say the BW has it all over you. I'm sure MM will too, all in good time.

If you're for real, you're one of the most defective creatures I've ever run across.

This whole thing is just disgusting. It's funny that she thinks she's going to get this guy..ha ha.

I hope she does! LOL They sound like a matched pair! :lmao:

I don't know if anyone is keeping up with the news but in Ohio there was a 26 yr old OW who's body was found. She was 9 months prenant with her MM's 2nd child.

He's now up for 2 murders.

LL better watch her back. her MM might not be all that. Good luck to her.

Honey, "practically" living together, ain't actually living together. And what do you mean you "let" him go? He screwed you in some bungalow and then left to go back to his wife...you know.. that woman that he actually LIVES with. You're in a fantasy land.

What is there to be envious about in this situation? You are an unwed mother, the father of the baby is married to another woman and you're basically screwed. I don't see a whole lot to envy there. (Plus your personality is a huge turnoff to be honest with you. You need some serious help.)

I also bounced back after pregnancy. I'm tanned with no stretch marks either AND I have my OWN guy! And we're (gasp!) MARRIED! Why would I be envious? I for one, feel sorry for you.

Since when have I been "unwed"? Don't you do some research before you act so presumptuously? Uneducated ignorant people usually don't.

More and more silly presumptions.

I spend much more time with "IS" than his wife does. LOL. Practically every night.. We are living together dear, get used to it. LOL.. I love how everyone is so entangled and intrigued with my life. His wife is useless now, but he says that he has a pre-nup with the "damaged goods" so it is no worry. His terms, not mine. Good day all.

Meantime, under a different user-name and during downtime, littlelady has probably received all kinds of carefully thought out, caring support for the hellish reality of her life minus the escapism that's being enabled here. Ironic, isn't it?
