new_stella Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 I’ve seen this line so many times used to justify certain behaviour: “He’s just a guy!” I don’t recall ever seeing “She’s just a girl!” Am I fundamentally wrong here, or is it just a plain double standard?
Horse Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 I have heard it many times. Mostly it is used: - to explain why a woman is incapable of doing something simple like changing the oil in her car (or in many cases to even recognize that the oil needs to be changed). or - To excuse/explain excessive moodiness or crying at seemingly random moments.
Aloros Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Buying a copious amount of clothes/shoes?I think that applies to "She's just a girl!"
Trialbyfire Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 There are stereotypes in both genders. Men roll their eyes at the sheer number of shoes most women have. Btw, you can never have too many shoes/sandals/boots. It's a fact of life.
