McFadden Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 A lighter and less infuriating question than most of mine lol. Long story short this guy that I am/was dating called and invited me to his birthday which is only in 2 days. I have not been very involved with him. He just randomly came up to me and asked me out in a coffee place few weeks ago, then we went on a few dates. After I told him I wasn't looking to get into a relationship he stopped contacting me for a while. Then he called and left me a message inviting me to to birthday. So what I am wondering is what would be a good gift to bring and in what price range would I be "expected" to spend? I would just like an average of what kind of thing most people would do so I can get some ideas. Its hard to buy something when you don't know someone very well and don't know what they like. In a related question, I have another friends birthday I have to go to next week and the situation with that is, we are going to a concert, but he is broke so he is making everyone buy our own tickets. What he said is "just consider the fact that your buying your ticket your present to me and don't get anything." But I still feel like I should bring a small gift. Is that the right thing to do or will it make things awkward if no one else brings one? I'm unsure, what would most people do in both of these situations?

But I still feel like I should bring a small gift. Is that the right thing to do or will it make things awkward if no one else brings one? I'm unsure, what would most people do in both of these situations? tell him you'll buy him a couple of drinks at the concert or take him a batch of homemade cookies (oatmeal raisin or choc chip preferrably)
Author McFadden Posted June 22, 2007 Author Posted June 22, 2007 Thanks, the cookies thing is a good idea. If guys think I can bake then I potentially score points for that. Of course I can't so I'm going to have to buy them at Ralphs and then put them in a container and make it look like I made them.
