ladyb Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Do men automatically think that girls that dress nice are vain, snob and possibly a slut? What I mean by nice is, she would normally always look good each day, nice hair, nice clothes... I don't know if people would think that of me since I tend to dress nice to work because I work in a business environment. I often have this problem because I get the impression people think I'm the above? I'm neither. Do men judge girls just by her appearance...? I don't see any problem with a girl looking nice, especially going to work where you have to meet and see people on a daily basis!
loveinlife Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Nothing is wrong with that...i like a girl that dress nice, makes them more attractive. As a guy i like to dress nice too

Otherwise I can't see how you would reach such a conclusion. Its pretty over- analytical. Most women, especially those who work, want to look "nice". What constitutes "nice" is very subjective.
Enema Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Your definition of "nice" may be different to ours too. Receptionist at my work wears CFM boots, short skirts and tight tops all the time but probably thinks she dresses "nice". Imo, it's a little much for an office environ.
DanielMadr Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Its easy. Forget to take makeup, dress in jeans and Tshirt and watch how will the Matrix change. If you are worried others think of you as unapproachable, then make yourself more approachable. Guy in cargo pants will think twice before he asks super neat dressed girl with b1tchshield made of insecurity.
DanielMadr Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Nothing is wrong with that...i like a girl that dress nice, makes them more attractive. As a guy i like to dress nice too Lesson number two. Guys who like to dress nice are considered homo. You cant compare yourself to a girl in matters of vanity.
sb129 Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Lesson number two. Guys who like to dress nice are considered homo. You cant compare yourself to a girl in matters of vanity. LOL Dan! Again, there is a varying spectrum of what constitutes "nice" to men.
DanielMadr Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 LOL Dan! Again, there is a varying spectrum of what constitutes "nice" to men. Men can dress with style, never nice. What she meant was that she spend hours eliminating any possible flaws.
sb129 Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Oh right, understood. I like my Bfs "flaws"- (his perception, not mine). I wouldn't want him to eliminate them. We can't all have porcelain puppet skin and perfect puppet hair like you Dan!

We can't all have porcelain puppet skin and perfect puppet hair like you Dan! Oh thank you very much EsBee:) Of course you can have those puppet skin and hair. Its only 442$. One latex sheat 150$, one silon scalp 250$ and 20 tubes of super glue 22$.
DanielMadr Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 $442! Thats more than my normal beauty routine! But its for life. And you have to only wash it with wet cloth every second day. Try doing this and people wont even stay with you on the same bus
IfWishesWereHorses Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 I do think that women who never leave home unless perfectly coiffed, pressed, and perfect are usually labeled "high maintenance". What ever that means, but it is always said in a negative tone!
BonneKarma Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 I'm not a guy, but I have been guilty of assuming that any woman who spends all her money on clothes and shoes and does her hair perfectly everyday, puts on makeup perfectly etc. must be a little vain. There's nothing wrong with that though - be who you are and you'll find someone who is attracted to just that. Would you want to date a guy who doesn't appreciate the hours you spend in the bathroom? Some guys go for high maintenance girls - they want someone to look pretty on their arm. some guys go for girls who wear little to no makeup and are more laid back in general. There's someone for everyone!! (or at least I hope so)

Its silly to judge based on their clothes. However, I would assume that if a girl wore revealing "slutty" clothes on a daily basis and even wore them to places where they don't belong (sporting event), then I would think that they are probably skanky.

I don't think men would automatically make the assumption that a girl is a snob or vain just because she dresses nice. I think most men would like a girl who is well put together.
allina Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Why would men think that a woman in business attire was a slut? I think women are judged by their clothing when they are in sloppy, dirty clothing, clothing that is very revealing or clothing that is way too small for her size.
SadandConfusedWA Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 I do think that people form certain opinions on us based on the way we dress. When I first started working at my current place, most women dressed really sloppy, like same t-shirt and pants every day. Or jeans and old T. Meanwhile, I was wearing cute tops, skirts, even boots - and I could tell people thought I'm some vain brainless bimbo. I have changed the way I dress now to blend in more, while I will never dress sloppy I'm now more into wearing simple black pants and a nice top (no skirts+boots combos anymore). I can now actually have serious conversation with men that doesn't include them staring into my chest/legs the whole time.
