Pyro Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 everyone has to settle for what they can get. thats the way life is and it must be accepted. you have to be realistic and objective about these matters. No they don't............. Some of us are more patient then others.
Storyrider Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Oh, really? What's that about? Just Rid's sig. He settled for mentioning me in his signature b/c he couldn't find anyone better.
Pyro Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Just Rid's sig. He settled for mentioning me in his signature b/c he couldn't find anyone better. Read my post again. I don't settle for anything less.
Author EnigmasMuse Posted June 6, 2007 Author Posted June 6, 2007 everyone has to settle for what they can get. Really? So someone should settle for someone who is abusive to them? Or runs around on them? I sure hope they don't feel they "settle" because its what they think they deserve.
VegasFan Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 I told her it sounded like she wasn't all that happy, and that she sounded as if she had just kind of settled with him. She looked at me and didn't even flinch and responded by saying, I was right in saying that, and she did just "settle." Settling is not so bad, read this article: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=10536016 Btw, before finding this thread (which seems perfect for that article), I posted a seperate thread just to discuss that article: http://www.loveshack.org/forums/t121495/
monkey00 Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 I believe most people settle at one point or another. Some for the right reasons, and some for the wrong reasons. But my idea of settling is more about people who fall too deeply into their comfort zone and stay in it because they've grown so used to the other person..and this all falls back on what i said earlier. The term 'settling down' does have its true meaning for the most part.
