Curmudgeon Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 Is there a difference between being in a "committed relationship" with someone, and being "boyfriend/girlfriend." ? And if there are differences, what are they?? can someone please explain. A committed relationship can be a marriage, cohabitation, engagement or agreement to be monogamous while seeing one another. Any other type of relationship is either "casual" or a boyfriend/girlfriend type, either of which can end or change on a whim and should be able to do so without recrimination. As always, just one man's opinion!
Star Gazer Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 MKNG - what I've learned is that a guy can call you his GF without being committed to you exclusively. Some guys literally call any damn girl they are hanging out with (which could be more than one) their "girlfriend," almost the way we females refer to our female friends as our girlfriends. I'm sure Alpha does this... Defining a relationship is tricky. It really depends on the boundaries the couple decides upon. That said, while you can be a "girlfriend" without being in a committed relationship, I don't think you can be in a committed relationship without being a "girlfriend," if that makes sense.
