Totally agree. TBF, it must be a major thrill for this poster that a beautiful, smart woman is giving him so much of her time....even if it is just in cyberspace. Not really anything in it for you though, is there? Your brain was designed for worthier pursuits.

Perhaps I'm a little tired of all the female trashing lately, sufficiently that it warranted some minor push back.

I don't believe for one second this thread will make a drop of difference towards attitudes but then, I'm not in the business of controlling others. I can only state my position.

I have a sense of deja vu for some reason. Wasn't this posted earlier under another name? Hmmm.....or maybe it was all that WINE I had last night that's making me see things. Interesting phenomena.

Oh and to stay on topic. One parent should stay home. Babies shouldn't be in daycare.

if women tennis players can bring in the same revenue as the men can then they should get paid the same. unfortuantely they can't.

actually tennis is basically dead as a spectator sport in the US. It was at its height back 25 or 30 years ago.

Yup. And it was removed.

Yep, I know. And it will probably magically disappear again. POOF!:laugh:

And I do agree that if women can draw the same crowds, then they should command the same money.

Yes, that's odd considering the other posts in the thread are no different.

Uhm...it's not about the posts..it's about the poster

Can we please get back on topic?

There are rules and mechanics for that. Post removal occurs either when the posts are offensive or the poster is trolling.

look, no one cares about Wimbeldon anymore. Pro tennis is almost finished.

You're the one who started getting off-topic.

Anywho, I don't follow tennis anymore. I used to back in the Billy Jean King and Martina Navratilova (sp?) days..who can forget Billy Jean King vs. Bobby Riggs?

Your first statement is only partially true. While WTA events don't draw as well as the men's ATP events, the women's matches during the Grand Slam events - especially the finals - tend to garner higher TV ratings than the men.

You second statement is untrue. The US Open has broken attendance records each of the last 3 years. The other Master's Series events in the US - Indian Wells, Cincinnati and Miami - also set new attendance records each year.

Interestingly, the resurgence in tennis play and attendance in the US has been tied to the success in the last ten years of the William's sisters :p
